Thank you Shawn-

2 more things.

He gets called for a lot of penalties, otherwise he would actually be rated HIGHER by places like PFF, imo

He can run block, too. What a concept.

My bet is he's a Redskin or Bill this year, unless the Skins take Okung, which I really think is likely.

"Sediment" looked very good to me, in this instance.

If Cliffy had found a better deal elsewhere, this would have been a crystal clear no-brainer even for Ted..'cept maybe Gaither as a ZBSer, and maybe the part about being too friggin' stupid to roll into off-season workouts ---immediately ---when on the cusp of a MASSIVE payday...WITH Rosenhaus as his agent...(somewhere) WITH the 'knock" of "work ethic" hanging over him, in the context of many teams in DESPERATE need of a quality left tackle...

The sediment is in fact somewhat dense, upon reflection, unless the Packers find another team as dense as Gaither to come off a 2nd for Colledge, in which case, the sediment would settle nicely, clearing the waters of my sentiments on this issue.

Jared Gaither had all the tools and on field skills and potential to be a future and long term LT in the NFL...

and he fell to the Ravens in in the fifth round of the NFL's supplemental draft...

I'm just saying I think it was a sign the teams didn't like him in the locker room and/or off the field...

If there's any team that can help develop a player into a mature, work orientated team guy, the Packers must be amongst the best.

I'm not advocating the move per se, but if it happened I would not be totally opposed.

My feeling is more along the lines of Oher falling to them at 23, contrasted to lucking out with Gaither as a supplemental and/or locker room issues.

Oher looks like a top-flight left tackle, as does Gaither. Ravens are close...real close...to contending for that SB, and they DO have payroll concerns.

I think they think they are OK at right tackle without either Oher or Gaither there, and don't want to pay top left tackle dollar to Gaither, along with wanting a 2nd.

I get the local Baltimore media here in central PA, including a daily half-hour show on the Ravens.

The debate right now is if they would actually take a THIRD rounder for him (no)...

They want that pick while they still have something to trade. (coupled with the $$$ involved)

That seem to be the biggest "driver" of the debate.

NO ONE seems to dislike Gaither (fan-wise). They also seem to think he is slightly better than Oher, right now, as a left tackle.

Rosenhaus is going to get this guy big bucks. "Market" price for a top-tier left tackle is brutal. Look what we just paid for our below average geezer stop-gap one...which, by the way, further drove up the price for Gaither...

$$$$$ is THE driving force in his potentially leaving Baltimore, not the other "issues". That is my uneducated guess/sediment, anyway.

We have coined a new slang term on this forum: "sediment." It remains only to delineate the scope of this term.

We should be proud of ourselves.
