So, there's this talk about there is no way the Packers will trade their 1st round pick because the draft is in Green Bay. I've read this numerous times. I have also read quotes like the following.

"Mark actually made a joke the other day. He said, 'I want to make sure you know you can trade that pick.'" - Brian Gutekunst

"Having the draft in Green Bay really doesn't change anything for how we go about that. We're going to do what's best for the Green Bay Packers. If that's trading out of the pick, we're going to do it." - Brian Gutekunst

Granted, it's not like either will come out saying "We trading that 23rd overall pick to whoever wants it!"

It seems like really poor business to have an opportunity to land a player who could turn your franchise from good to great, solely because the draft is being held in your city. It makes zero sense to me. Wouldn't a long playoff run, even Super Bowl be better business? 1st round pick, no Super Bowl. No first round pick, Super Bowl. I bet everyone in that organization and every single fan would say the latter.

So, I ask you. Why would it matter to the Packers about their 1st round pick because of the draft being in Green Bay? I'm thinking it's more likely the Packers try to trade back from the 1st round and attempt to acquire more day two picks.

The fifth year option seems to be rather high for most of these guys and not worth it...so why not trade down.

Go Packers!!!!

If they do package their 1st rounder in a trade (say for Crosby or Garrett or whatever), then have that player announce the day 2 picks (whichever ones they have). Fans get a glimpse of the new guy, crowd gets fired up for GBs pick and the draft pick(s) gets a royal welcome. See? Easy.

If the right situation comes along, Gute takes the shot. If he does I hope it's before I sit around all night.

Tyler Booker said something that was definitely studly at the combine.

"I make guys not love football anymore."

I don't know if he will be there at 23, but I'm not complaining if we take him as our 1st round pick.

He's a guard from Alabama.

Martha Careful (8h) : I would have otherwise admirably served
dfosterf (10h) : Also, no more provision for a write-in candidate, so Martha is off the table at least for this year
dfosterf (10h) : You do have to interpret the boring fine print, but all stockholders all see he is on the ballot
dfosterf (10h) : It also says he is subject to another ballot in 2028. I recall nothing of this nature with Murphy
dfosterf (10h) : Ed Policy is on my ballot subject to me penciling him in as a no.

dfosterf (10h) : Because I was too lazy to change my address, I haven't voted fot years until this year
dfosterf (10h) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (10h) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
