This place is cosy, in a non cabin fever kind of way. I really wouldn't want to talk Packers elsewhere.

I... I am a football junkie.. I will talk it, watch it, debate it, argue over it.. and used to play it whenever, wherever I can...

I am an addict... hell I watch youth football and start breaking down players... borderline illness.. lol.. so I hit football sites.

I am a member of a Charger, Raider, Bengal, Viking and Florida State forum as well... probably will have to find another college program to embrace now that Bobby was forced out..

Needless to say.. I roam and talk football a bunch. This is home though.. because of the people.

I knew you would join in this conversation. I am really proud of how long you were able to sit on the sidelines. That was real self restraint my friend.

Yes that was. I got to the point where I was skipping any conversation because it always ended up the same way. Kind of like how no matter what you talk about in a political forum, it always goes to Nazis/Adolph Hitler. At that point, any real dialog is over and it becomes a shouting match.

It wasn't so much a shouting match here as it was hearing the same thing over and over and over again. It got old.

I thought Kevin handled it pretty well. Kudos.

Eng - Exactly. It's about the right size. You don't want a site too big that it becomes impersonal, but too small that you never see any updates.

Pack - Why Chargers if I may ask? Chargers used to be my 2nd favorite team in the early 80s because I love the pass (nothing has changed). The Chargers kept it in the air all the time, and they were fun to watch. Then coincidently, the Packers started doing the same thing and I had lost interest in the Chargers.

Kellen Winslow, Dan Fouts, Charlie Joiner, John Jefferson and Don Coryell... mostly Kellen Winslow though.. dude was a rock of a tight end. I would watch all the Chargers football I could back then.. Municie was another favorite back then... never the greatest back in the world but I liked his grit.

I was young yet.. but I remember studying that offense and thinking damn that is how to exploit the game.. 30 years later.. many of the same principles are still in the game.

When John Jefferson came to the Packers is when I stopped watching the Chargers as we became the Chargers. Paul Coffman was not as good as Kellen Winslow, but he filled Winslow's role of being the 3rd target often in the middle of the field. Gerry Ellis was a poor man's Chuck Muncie. And as good as Joiner was, Lofton was better.

Fouts was a blast to watch, but Dickey had the better long ball. :wav:

Well growing up following the 70's predictable Packers offense.. when I caught the Chargers in the late 70's... it was so foreign to me that I had to learn about it.

We didn't get a ton of Charger games in Wisconsin.. so I would tape them on beta tapes and watch them again and again... I think my parent tossed them when they moved from the farm in the early 90's... I had probably 50, 60 tapes full of games or parts of them that I wanted to keep.. studying formations.. defenses.. players.. you name it...

I was also a diehard Tom Landry fan.. along with Starbach, Dorsett, Randy White, Ed Jones, Charlie Waters, Robert Newsome,Tony Hill and Drew Pearson.. I was young but one of the moments I never forgot in all these years...

Was this gem... [img_r]http://rootzoo.com/article_photo_uploads/DoomsDaddy_15299_8576.jpg[/img_r]

I'll always have a soft spot for Roger Staubach. First football I ever owned was a Roger Staubach football. It had instructions on how to properly throw a football. I followed them to a T.

People said I threw the ball hard and assumed it was because of a strong arm. It wasn't. It was all proper mechanics. Dang I wish I was there in Wisconsin sometimes. I'd show you what I mean.

I was seven or eight when I got my first football, and a die hard Packers fan and didn't hate the Cows until 1982. You probably know the moment I'm referring to.

Dorsett I have a soft spot for as well. He had elusive moves and was just fun to watch. I didn't know he passed up Jim Brown until recently. Weird to see he ended up so high on the all-time rushing list and played as long as he did.

dfosterf (30-Jan) : So eeri
Mucky Tundra (30-Jan) : Now that's a thought, maybe they're looking at the college ranks? Maybe not head coaches but DC/assistant DCs with league experience?
beast (30-Jan) : College Coaches wouldn't want that publicly, as it would hurt recruiting and they might not get the job.
beast (30-Jan) : I thought they were supposed to publicly announce them, at least the NFL ones. Hafley was from college, so I believe different rules.
Mucky Tundra (30-Jan) : Who knows who they're interviewing? I mean, nobody knew about Hafley and then out of nowhere he was hired
beast (30-Jan) : I wonder what's taking so long with hiring a DL coach, 2 of the 3 known to interview have already been hired elsewhere.
Zero2Cool (27-Jan) : Packers coach Matt LaFleur hires Luke Getsy as senior assistant, extends Rich Bisaccia's deal
Zero2Cool (27-Jan) : Chiefs again huh? I guess another Super Bowl I'll be finding something else to do.

buckeyepackfan (26-Jan) : I forgot, they corrected the call a week later. Lol btw HAPPY BIRTHDAY dhazer!
buckeyepackfan (26-Jan) : That brings up the question, why wasn't Nixon down by contact? I think that was the point Kanata was making.

Mucky Tundra (24-Jan) : Rude!

Zero2Cool (24-Jan) : Raiders hired someone from the elderly home.
dfosterf (24-Jan) : I'm going with a combination of the two.
beast (24-Jan) : Either the Cowboys have no idea what they're doing, or they're targeting their former OC, currently the Eagles OC
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
beast (23-Jan) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you
