I'm having an interesting discussion on a Vikings forum about who the best player from the 2007 draft is. I'm going with Joe Thomas. He's sold on Peterson. Thought it'd be fun to see who everyone's "best" player from the draft in previous years is/was.
Discuss about or tackle any draft you feel like.
2007 - Joe Thomas, OT, BrownsA lot of poeple will question why I took Thomas over Peterson.
He's the best OT in the league right now. OT has better positional value than RB, imo. You can find RBs later in the draft, that usually doesn't work with OTs. He stops you from turning the ball over, rather than turning it over.
Apart from that Thomas is just a better player, he has all of that going for him, as well.
Darrelle Revis makes a good push here, as well.
2005 - Aaron Rodgers, QB, PackersI have to give Rodgers the nod, mainly because he's a QB, but DeMarcus Ware is awfully close.
Rodgers might be the best young QB in the league, together with Phillip Rivers.
Ware is (one of) the best pass rusher(s) in the league. If it wheren't for Rodgers' brilliant play last season, this one would've gone to Ware, easily.
