Are you a football player who is hoping to continue his playing career while also earning enough money to pay for your cell phone and maybe part of your cable bill?
Do you own your own cleats?
Most importantly, will you remember to bring them with you?
If you answered "yes" to each of those questions, UFL teams are holding open tryouts on seven upcoming dates. The Las Vegas Locos will kick tires on April 17 in Phoenix. On May 8, the Florida Tuskers will eyeball prospects in Miami, and the Hartford Colonials will do so in Petersburg, Virginia. The next day, the Locos head to L.A.
On May 15, the Tuskers will check out potential players in Orlando and prospective Locos will hope that their auditions in Vegas will allow them to stay in Vegas. Finally, on June 26, the Tuskers will visit Atlanta.
The only UFL team not conducting open tryouts (yet) is the unnamed franchise that has moved to Sacramento. Coached by Denny Green, it would be way too easy for us to say that tryouts will be important for him to determine whether the applicants are who they thought they were.
So we won't.
