So....what have we learned? That Non gets all his info from "REASON". Anything written elsewhere is ignored. Man....these guys must have you in their pocket.
So......lets see.....Obama wants to take over our healthcare. Making us 100% dependant on the government. Is that the "freedom" you seek?
Yet you blast Palin for wanting to take away our freedom?
Democrats tax EVERYTHING, and never say "NO!" to a new tax. Is that "freedom?"
We live in a different age. The security of our borders is terrible. Anyone that wants to get in here to attack from inside can do it. The left wants to allow anyone access to the country. Their "political correctness" won't allow otherwise.
It's hard to figure out just how much protection we need today, and still allow us our freedom. The left is always screaming to take away our guns. Yet, if we HAVE our guns, we can defend ourselves.
Seems to me the slant of "REASON" leans so far to the left, it should fall over. They ignore any of the "freedoms" the left is grabbing from us, and goes on the attack about national security with Palin.

We can't torture terrorists cause it takes away their "rights". Does that make any sense to you?
The very people that wouldn't blink an eye if your family and friends were blown up by one of their people deserves protection from us?
Does that make ANY sense? It doesn't to me.

Yeah....I'm a terrible "righty" for thinking that way. Even though, if they capture any of our people, they don't think twice about cutting their head's off ON CAMERA so they can "brag" to the world.

Who's talking down to who, Cheesey? Your first comment to his article was to claim that he gets "all of his information" from the source of this one article. Not a great way to start. And then instead of responding to the topic at hand, you decided to spew out every GOP talking point you could possibly come up with, probably hoping to guilt anyone into feeling bad that they thought some valid points were made in the article, because that would make them healthcare fascist, border lax, gun confiscating terrorist lovers. THAT is what I find insulting.

NSD: Sarah Palin stands for everything that pisses me off about American politics nowadays. Intelligent political discourse is abandoned for cheap partisan talking points. More importantly, there are no PRINCIPLES to these arguments, as this article rather accurately pointed out. It isn't hard to find contradictions in the beliefs presented by Palin and company.

I've said this before, I will say it again: It is very hard to convey tone in online writing. Just because I am writing passionately or even vehemently doesn't mean I am writing angrily. I agree with what Cheesey said earlier in the thread: I wish we could all sit at the same table and talk. Then you would realize I am quite good natured about all of this and that debate can be fun.

Dammit, Kevin, where's the official PackersHome convention when you need one?

Yeah. I can see it already. Rourke and Wade are doing all the talking and the other 20 people are flipping through their dictionaries the entire time.

Anyway, the main thing that I noticed is that there's a lot of pointless name calling happening in (American) politics. Going back to the teleprompter comment from Palin. What use did that have? It appears to be nothing more than throwing fecies at eachother. Hypocritical fecies, at that. It did show her amazing intellect, though.

I'm not anti-republican. I just don't hope that she gets anywhere close to The White House.

You should totally get Clinton back in there, somehow. FDR got 12 years. Give Clinton another 4 years, as well.

Jk, somewhat.

Good, grief. Clinton did nothing but enrage the public and turn the Congress and Senate into Republican controlled bodies. Screwing interns and ruining the economy with that Internet bubble.

FDR was actually a very bad president during his first two terms. He lucked out by being a great wartime president.

seriously? people are "afraid" to post their opinions on this site? really? i find that absolutely hilarious & ridiculous all at the same time.

there's not one regular poster on here who can't maintain a level of decorum & respect so to say you're 'afraid' is a cop-out.

if you think the discussion's getting heated, cool your jets for awhile. for now, i've decided to stay away from the political stuff. a choice that each of you can make as well.

Actually, Clinton was our last conservative president and the economy was great under him. He balanced the budget and left office with a surplus.

I couldn't stand his other policies, but economics was his forte. Then GWB came in and killed our surplus and left us with a fat deficit. Then Obama took GWB's deficit and made it two or three times as large.

The internet bubble was caused by American greed. Why were we buying shares of companies that were NEVER going to produce a profit? The thing is, it was on a HUGE scale. There were companies that absolutely sucked that were worth $100 a share.

Not Clinton's fault. Rock is right.

Now before anyone says I'm a defender of Clinton, I'm an amateur historian. He was the best economic President since JFK but horrible at pretty much everything else, like foreign policy, and like defending the Constitution, etc. But to blame Clinton for the bad economy is incorrect.

Hehe. Actually, there's a good bet I'd be one of those quiet wall-flower types who almost never talks. I tend not to talk well off the cuff. The backspacing/revising/etc you never see unless I've forgotten to delete repetitive bits, etc. -- i tend to stammer and wander rather aimlessly when I talk. So when I go to conventions, I usually just stay silent and think about what I should have said if I could only have thought of it three topics ago.

Not to mention that (i) I sort of get off on listening; and (ii) I'm regularly distractable by women in black dresses and assorted other bits of attire.

Of course if I drink more, all bets are off. But then you probably won't see the big word stuff either...unless you count "motherfucking bastard administrators/managers" and such as big words. 🙂

I don't hate Obama actually. I just wish he'd go away. Say, to the Metrodome or New York City or somewhere equally useless.
