A lot of harsh words for Manning there. I'm just curious who you think is better than him?

Right now or the past 10 years?

I honestly think Brees and Favre technically had better years than Manning in '09, although from 2000-2010, I'd say Manning was 2nd best after Brady and Brees simply doesn't have the years yet but when both retire, Brees will be better.

I was thinking in the last decade. It's a difficult argument. I would agree with Brady but only because of the Super Bowl wins. If you think about the teams Manning has had versus the teams Brady has had I think Brady has had a little more help. I just can't see Brady meshing with two receivers that had a combined one season of NFL experience like Manning did this year. Payton is everything you'd want in a QB.

Well, this is the thing. Brady didn't have good WRs until '07. Then he had the best season ever for a QB. Then he got his knee torn up and missed '08.

I always wonder to why people say if Manning would of had Brady's WR's. I guess I'm crazy to think Harrison, Wayne and Clarke were better then Givens, Branch and Caldwelle

But Brady always had the defense. QBs can rack up great numbers when their team is up. Just dump it off here, take a shot down there, no pressure at all to convert anything.

Just look at Favre this year.

I don't think that his receiving weapons where greater than the ones he's had in GB, yet, he puts up better numbers than he did here. Mostly because that dominating defense kept them up at almost all times. And mostly they didn't get behind with more than 1 TD. There's a reason why Favre is the best ever when the team's up and, usually, horrible when his teams are down by more than 10 points or something. It shows in the big difference in his stats on his losing and winning teams, as well.

Same goes for Brady, if you ask me. In a smaller form, but it happens, nontheless. For every QB, really. Brady has been playing carefree football for most of his career. Manning has been playing catch-up since they day he's entered the league.

And really, Wayne wouldn't be nearly as good as he is without Peyton. He doesn't have any amazing physical skills. He's good, but not great, at nearly everything.

OK, agreed with Wayne but nobody in the right mind can argue that Marvin Harrison isn't a Hall of Famer (unless jail keeps him out). Harrison is arguably the best possession receiver who ever played the game (Jerry Rice is a better all around WR of course).

Brady's only had one Hall of Fame WR on his team, and that's Randy Moss who is arguably the best at what he does. His TD% is off the charts. I'd love to have him as a deep ball man.

Favre had only one Hall of Famer, and that's Sterling Sharpe. Now, Sharpe could have been one of the best WRs ever but his career was cut short. So Favre only had him for 3 years.

Antonio Freeman = Reggie Wayne. Lots of heart, good physical skills, but nothing outstanding and definitely not Hall of Fame material.

Now if you want to talk D, Peyton Manning has had both elite Ds and mediocre Ds. Props to winning a SB with a 23rd rank D. But being realistic, that SB was more lost by da Bears than it was won by the Colts. Watch it again if you don't believe me. Wrecks wrecked da Bears.

Manning has had the #1 D in the NFL, the #2, and the #7, all in the past five years. Let's not forget just how good of a Coach Tony Dungy is.

Yes, Bellichick is an elite Coach as well. Evil, but elite. He's had some sick Ds and Brady realistically has generally had better Ds than Manning has.

Favre is more like Manning. The Sherman years, our Ds were really bad jokes and by the end, we had no depth anywhere. Favre only had a top 3 D once in his career. And guess what? He won a SB that year. Coincidence?

I don't think much of it. Manning actually shows class. Aside from all the glitz and glamor he gets as the NFL's, poster boy, the man actually does have a passion for the game. He sends everybody who retires a letter--and that speaks volumes about his character.

Tom Brady never shakes anybody's hands after a loss. No joke. Watch any Patriots game, especially the HYPED ones.

As for any ill will, I have no ill will towards Manning. BUT. I don't think he should have been the MVP this year. Drew Brees, Brett Favre, and even Aaron Rodgers all had better seasons than he did. Personally I think it should've gone to Brees or Favre. Brees was on-target all season. Favre did all sorts of things you'd never see another 40-year old do.

Under normal every game circumstances, I believe that is proper to extend congratulations to the other team as a sign of sportsmanship. I think any key figures that don't are lesser because of it, including coaches and starters.

While I can see some understanding in not doing it in the Superbowl and dealing with the media, I think it takes a certain honor away from the winners.

Is it that big of a deal, probably not, but being raised with a great deal of respect towards proper sportsmanship and tradition.. I think there is something to be said for it.

In comparison, I lose more respect for Peyton whining and bitching on the sidelines, turning multiple shades of red while barking at his teammates.

From what I've heard, I take Manning's side in this. He left the field before the swarm then called Brees up to congratulate him. Cool.

Tom Brady is a ****. I won't deny that whatsoever. I don't know if he gets that from his evil genius coach or if he was always like that.

And I completely agree with you on the MVP part. I would have given it to Brees this year and probably Favre second, but definitely Brees. But Brees in the end got the better deal. I'd much, much rather have the ring than the MVP.
