I laugh at people who form opinions on players, professional or otherwise, on the actions they see on the sidelines.
As if you are in the heat of battle, know every circumstance and nuance the players have and gone through..
Kinda like the people that tried calling Favre out for 'cold cocking' Childress..

Honestly, I'd rather not know athletes' personalities. When I was growing up here in the San Francisco area, I had friends who were both A's fans and Giants' fans. So I went to both games.
The Giants' were more reclusive so we never encountered any, other than autographs here and there. The A's however, we bumped into all the time.
Jose Canseco and Mark McGuire were both serious assholes, and my father got in an argument with their catcher who was also a prick. After our encounters with A's stars, I started to dislike the team.
It would be like if you had Adrian Peterson and Tony Romo at your house on different weekends. What if Romo turned out to be a great guy - was really polite to your family, played catch with your kids, cleaned up after himself, etc., and AP kicked your dog and kept hitting on your wife? Would kind of ruin things for you.
So I'd rather keep athletes at a distance and just root for my team and hate the enemy. Sometimes it's better that way.
Oh, the coach for the Raiders who replaced John Madden (forgot his name) is a swell guy. Ah, Tom Flores. Had to look it up.
