Update..

A couple form Weston won. He has served 2 tours in Iraq and is currently serving in Afghanistan. So the owner of the landscape company who are volunteering their services, stated, it was time to give back to some one who is giving so much to all of us and his country.

I couldn't agree more on the thought.. and honestly very happy for them. All the contestants were extremely worthy.. but someplace I was hoping the Vet would win it.

Thanks for any and all that voted.. and yes most that know me in RL know of the site as I talk about folks from here from time to time in conversation. Scary huh. 😉

Thanks for the update. I had been wondering what the final outcome was.

The winners were my second choice (loyalty to 93z and all) so I am glad they won if Pack couldn't.

Thanks for the loyalty.. to be honest... I think that it is the right message to send to this country right now.

My hats off to Living Color Landscapes .. and WAOW for running such a nice contest in this area.

More on the winners story..

WESTON (WAOW)-- We're excited to announce this year's Extreme Yard Makeover winner.

They're a couple from Weston, who's home projects kept getting delayed due to deployments with the Wisconsin Army National Guard.

This morning we introduce you to Canaan & Jodi Heil, as we embark on the transformation of their yard.

After Canaan's first tour of duty in Afghanistan, he returned back to the states and purchased this home 3 years ago with his wife, Jodi.

Like any new homeowner, this Weston couple had lots of home projects on their agenda.

In the summer of 2009, Canaan and Jodi planned to tackle yard work, but a notice came at the end of 2008, saying Canaan would be deployed once again this time to Iraq.

Jodi says, "... we have our deck in the back it is falling apart, it's not unusable.. and then I like flowers and stuff like that... and there's nothing out there so that was one of our big projects we we're going to do, and saving up to do."

This news put their plans on hold, but, 2010 has had it's fair share of excitement.

Canaan returned home in January, and in March the couple learned their first child was on the way.

James Merritt, owner of Living Color Landscape, says, "... it's a blank canvas and the possibilities are endless... we're going to sit down with the homeowners and get their wish list and make them come true."

The project is expected to wrap up at the end of July, and everyone involved is happy to show their thanks to a man, and a family... for their service to our country.

Merritt says, "... Kaynin served us all... and put it on the line for all of us and here we are sitting comfortably in Central Wisconsin and it's kind of awesome to give him something and pay him back."

Thanks so much to everyone who entered a nomination and voted on our web site.

Throughout the makeover, which is worth up to $25,000, we'll show you the progress from start to finish.

Zero2Cool (4h) : May 3rd. Extension day for Jordan Love. (soonest)
Zero2Cool (23h) : USFL MVP QB Alex McGough moved to WR. So that's why no WR drafted!
earthquake (1-May) : Packers draft starters at safety ever few years. Collins, Clinton-Dix, Savage
beast (1-May) : Why can't the rookies be a day 1 starter? Especially when we grabbed 3 of them at the position
dfosterf (1-May) : Not going to be shocked if Gilmore goes to the Lions.
dfosterf (1-May) : I hear you dhazer, but my guess would be Gilmore Colts and Howard Vikings from what little has been reported.
Mucky Tundra (30-Apr) : S learn from McKinney who learns from Hafley who learns from the fans. Guaranteed Super Bowl
    Zero2Cool (30-Apr) : could*

dhazer (29-Apr) : And what about grabbing a Gilmore or Howard at CB ? Those are all Free Agents left
dhazer (29-Apr) : out of curiosity do they try and sign Simmons or Hyde to let these young safeties learn from, they can't be day 1 starters.

dfosterf (28-Apr) : MLF said Kingsley Enagbare did NOT tear his ACL and did NOT require surgery, and that he is "looking good" for the 2024 season!
    beast (28-Apr) : T.O. son signs with the 49ers
Mucky Tundra (28-Apr) : damn those vikings

beast (27-Apr) : OL – Donovan Jennings, USF OT – Trente Jones, Michigan
TheKanataThrilla (27-Apr) : Interesting draft. A bit shocked that we didn't select an early CB. Definitely have Safety help. Pretty happy overall.
dhazer (27-Apr) : wow the last 2 picks are really stupid and probably will be special teams players Top 10 draft pick next year book it
TheKanataThrilla (27-Apr) : I think he ended up with a terrible RAS score
dhazer (27-Apr) : Anyone know what went on with Kitchens from Florida? At 1 point he was to be the Packers 1st round and he is way down the board now
