You don't spend a 3rd rounder to get less than you previously had at a position and I feel that is what they did out of panic watching the TE's they really wanted gone off the board.

I bet he catches far more balls than Finley did in his career in GB. Will he affect defenses the same way? Only time will tell.
I do find it interesting that as dynamically as people say Finley affects opposing defenses, his 40 time coming into the draft was considered akin to walking in mud, compared with the others in his class. And, yes, Rodgers' was worse.
We will see how much really matters...
Adding Lyerla could turn out to be a remarkable steal if he is able to keep his focus and progress in this system. Had he not gotten himself into trouble, he could have been the top TE in the draft, or close to.
Both players added to this Packers team could really change the way defenses play us. With Lacy, Starks and Harris, along with a deeper, more talented WR group, and what I suspect will be an improved OL, defenses will be forced to play us far more honestly.
