God damn, Buckeye, usually I argue with you like your my dumbass older brother, but that's the most brilliant post I've read in a long time. Merry Christmas man!

I don't see anyone having a heart attack over the loss to KC but there are real issues with this team. All year long the OL has had trouble opening holes for the running game. All year long the OL has has trouble protecting the most valuable asset on the team and keeping him from getting sacked. The OL has giving up the 10th most sacks this year. If not for Aaron Rodgers mobility they would be closer to #1. All year long the receiving corp has had issues with dropped passes. All year long the defense has had miscues and given up big plays.

These are real concerns to people. Off the record I am sure even Uncle Teddy and Mike are concerned as well and try to address it. It would do them no good whatsoever to publicly state the OL sucks or that they are sick and tired of the screw ups in the secondary so they don't and won't say so. Doesn't mean it isn't there.

Now we add the even more uncertain status of the OL. Hopefully they are healthy come playoff time. But there are no guarantees. Anyone of them can pull a hammy on the next series. It is s short step from a mediocre line to an abominable one. There is no doubt that GB is 13-1 because of Aaron Rodgers but it takes more than just him to win a playoff game.

I worry that someday I will come on this forum and nobody will be here, because you all worried yourself to death!!!!

All you need to do is look at the teams The Packers will probably meet this year in the play-offs and realize that other than The Packers, most are completely different when they go on the road. IE Rams beat Saints Cardinals beat 49r's

The Packers had their "clunker" game for 2011 and everything is "gloom and doom".

By the time The Packers play their 1st playoff game of 2011 Clifton,Bulaga,Jennings Starks, and Saine will all be ready to go on offense, Pickett and Bishop will be back on Defense.

Things will be OK. I hated to see The Packers lose to the Chiefs, but it's not as bad as some are making it.

A little advice to some, quit trying to be GM and/or HC, The Packers have very good men at both positions, try cheering on The Packers...ALL THE PACKERS....enjoy the fact that this team is still poised to do something real special.

I just think cold weather gives the underdog a better chance because some types of talent (e.g., speed) is neutralized. I think we are more talented than the Cowboys but I just think that the cold weather gives them a chance because things can go wrong for a team focused on the pass (for example, look at the Bears game last year). I didn't even think my post was negative towards the Packers based on the Chiefs loss on any level.

Overall, I think homefield is homefield and you are probably always better off being at home but I think with a team like ours, its an interesting trade-off.

http://packershome.com/tabid/63/g/posts/t/13960/Aaron-Rodgers-in-the-Cold.aspx  Worth looking at if you’re interested in this sort of thing. Basically production doesn’t fall off too much. If anything Aaron Rodgers’ production gets better in the second half of the season.

Games against the Bears -- while I wouldn’t call them an aberration -- are not a very good indicator of cold weather success. It is their defense, and not the cold, that seems to be the issue for the Packers.

I'm not concerned about cold. I am, however, concerned about wind. We definitely need to utilize the running game more (which seems to be picking up at the right time). I think we would have run Grant even more against KC, and possibly won the game, if we had ANY depth behind him at all that game.

I think the Packers have homefield already. I'm not sure cuz I'm not sure how the strength of victory is calculated. If that is the same, then Packers get it on strength of schedule.

http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/35095/2011-strength-of-schedule

UNLESS the games played within their own respective division plays a role. 49ers are 4 - 1, Packers are 4 - 0. Packers I think are likely to split the last two games, which are both division opponents.

Head-to-head (best won-lost-tied percentage in games between the clubs).
Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the division.
Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games.
Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
Strength of victory.
Strength of schedule.

Yet this ESPN simulator says the 49ers win based on best percentage in common games. Question is, does the wins against the Rams count twice for the 49ers, and just once for the Packers?

Martha Careful (10-May) : 1. this is true of all our linemen. 2. His run block is fine. 3. If all OL played like he has, we would win SB.
beast (10-May) : Meyers pass blocking is really good, his run blocking is really not.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : Packers have claimed DE Spencer Waege off of waivers from the 49ers and waived DT Rodney Mathews.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : And the OL protections seem to be good.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : I really don't know lol. I don't see him getting blown up.

Mucky Tundra (9-May) : 4th
Zero2Cool (9-May) : because he's 1st
Mucky Tundra (9-May) : Myers isn't even the 3rd best C on the roster atm
Martha Careful (9-May) : I am not sure I understand the Myers hate. He was consistently our third best lineman. RG and LT were worse.
beast (9-May) : Just saying I don't think moving Myers would help Myers.
beast (9-May) : Center is usually considered the easiest position physically if you can handle the snap stuff.
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : Bust it is then
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Context. Sounds like Myers won't be cross-trained. C or bust.
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : @BookOfEli_NFL Packers pass game coordinator, Jason Vrable said that Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks shared a placed in Florida while train
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : For now...
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers go about evaluating their "best five," OL coach Luke Butkus makes on thing clear: "Josh Myers is our center."

beast (8-May) : It was confusing with two DB Anthony Johnson anyways
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers actually had Ray Lewis on the phone.

Zero2Cool (2-May) : May 3rd. Extension day for Jordan Love. (soonest)
Zero2Cool (1-May) : USFL MVP QB Alex McGough moved to WR. So that's why no WR drafted!
earthquake (1-May) : Packers draft starters at safety ever few years. Collins, Clinton-Dix, Savage
beast (1-May) : Why can't the rookies be a day 1 starter? Especially when we grabbed 3 of them at the position
dfosterf (1-May) : Not going to be shocked if Gilmore goes to the Lions.
dfosterf (1-May) : I hear you dhazer, but my guess would be Gilmore Colts and Howard Vikings from what little has been reported.
Mucky Tundra (30-Apr) : S learn from McKinney who learns from Hafley who learns from the fans. Guaranteed Super Bowl
Zero2Cool (30-Apr) : could*
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : Safeties should learn from Xavier.
dhazer (29-Apr) : And what about grabbing a Gilmore or Howard at CB ? Those are all Free Agents left
dhazer (29-Apr) : out of curiosity do they try and sign Simmons or Hyde to let these young safeties learn from, they can't be day 1 starters.
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : I miss having Sam Shields.
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : Not that he's making excuses, just pointing it out
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : That's for dang sure. Make our erratic kicker have no excuse!
packerfanoutwest (28-Apr) : having a great long snapper is gold
Zero2Cool (28-Apr) : LaFleur looking like he had some weight. Coachin will do that lol
