Just about everyone associated with the Super Bowl is thrilled that the Packers are facing the Steelers.

Both teams travel very well, which should help the businesses in Dallas surrounding the game. Tickets will go for more money and television ratings will be higher. Oh, and there will be plenty of money wagered on these two very public teams for the big game.

The Packers have been installed as favorites over the Steelers for Super Bowl XLV. The line opened at 2 points in most places and quickly went up to 2.5 or 3 based on early betting. This is expected to settle in as the lowest point spread since Redskins-Broncos.

The Packers were the No. 6 seed in the NFC, but coach Mike McCarthy likes say they are no ones underdogs. They were a trendy pick to win it all before the season, and they will enter the Super Bowl as slight favorites to win.

Are we REALLY better than the Steelers? For all intents and purposes we beat them last year, they just pulled that game out of their asses against good coverage by a street free agent. We've greatly rectified our secondary since then. And added James Starks.
We can do this.

It surprises me that it's been that long since there's been a narrow point spread. The Redskins scored 28 points in the second quarter of that game and blew the Broncos out 42-10. I don't see either team doing that in this game.

Fox was polishing off the Packers and their offense after the game, which made me question whether or not they even bothered to watch the 2nd half and our anemic offensive performance.

Don't get me wrong, I have all the confidence that the Packers can win, but I'm just surprised that the Packers are the favorites after a ho-hum offensive showing today.

Yep. Take away their game-winning play, and we beat them. The Steelers didn't really win the Super Bowl against the Cardinals the year before, either. And the Giants didn't beat the Patriots the year before that.

Yeah, I'm not sure we are that much better than them. I think our defenses are equal (yeah I said it!). I think our offense is better than theirs if we fires on all cylinders (see Atlanta game). If we sputter like we did tonight, we will probably not win this game.

Pittsburgh is a real steady team. They're very consisitant, which we aren't. Let's just hope we bring our A game, because if we do, we should win.

Wow we are the favorite im glad because when we are the favorite we normally win as the "road" team.

I wouldn't necessarily say the Steelers are any more consistent. They had their dud games this season as well, e.g. vs. the Bills, and Big Ben doesn't always have stellar numbers, they just grind out wins.

It seems that the two teams are virtual carbon copies and at every position group too. I know it's cliche, but this really should be an excellent game.

Point is, we're not relying on street free agents anymore. That play doesn't happen this time.

I agree with you guys our D is a lot better this time around, but so is theirs. Remember they didn't have Troy Polamalu most of last year. They are a different team without him.
