All I know from last Sunday...

Detroit Dline > Packers Oline on a carpet.

Detroit D-line owns most O-lines, so I reckoned they'd take our abomination of an o-line with ease.

What was really sad, though, is how much trouble our D-line seemed to have with their O-line.

Von Miller, guys, Von Miller...

Our Dline couldn't have been that bad. We gave up 7 points. That was the Lions lowest output all year and it was at home. Your Dline has to be winning most of the time for that to happen.

If you break down their run game Morris, Best, and, Felton gained 103 yds on 30 carries and Stanton, Logan, and Johnson gained 87 yrds on 10 carries and those were yds made on the outside on designed runs that our LB'rs and CB's should have been coming up and stopping.

The longest run by a RB was eight yds and they only averaged 3.4 for the day. I'll take that and cosider it a good days work by the Dline. Our LB's and Corners did not win on the run plays by Stanton and the WR's and both Mathews and Zombo have a tendency to get sucked inside on reverses allowing the runner to make the corner.

I thought it was rather gutsy running Stanton on designed runs considering he's their #3 QB but that's what happens when a team only has two wins I guess.

Did you see Stanton's throws? We only had to get them in 3rd and 4+ and we'd get the ball back. Maybe the worst QB performance I've ever seen out of a pro-QB.

But I can't recall a lot of pressures on the QB. Especially not when we brought just 4.

Yeah, Stanton was awful. As critical as I've been of Matt Flynn, Stanton was worse. I had heard that he played well against the Bears the week before, but I saw no evidence of that against the Packers.

It's hard to fault our defense for only giving up 7 points, but in a game like this, another big play would've been nice. During the whole second half I was praying for a pick-six, knowing that our offense had little chance to win the game.

Johnson > Jennings.
Burleson < Driver
Johnson 2 < Jones

Why you even compare a RB to a WR is beyond me. We don't have anyone to compare to Best. He's a weapon. Just like Logan. Best is average as a pure rusher, though.

Logan hasn't caught a pass this year, so again, how do you compare him to a conventional WR like Nelson?

"Rockmolder" wrote:

Ok he said weapons not wrs thus the comparison. We have no RB thus i put Best against Jones. You say Logan hasn't caught a pass big fricken deal he runs the ball and is a threat every time he returns a kickoff so he is better than Nelson. Pettigrew is by far better than Quarless and I would actually put him up there with the likes of Finley and Gates. Look at his stats when he doesn't have a 3rd string qb throwing to him. Burleson to me is equal to Driver they both are like the 3rd down goto guys but also can make a big play. Driver 40 for 449 and 4 tds Burleson 44 for 507 and 4 tds ya I see how driver is so much better.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Our best pressure is going to come from the Jenkins, Zombo, Mathews, unit in there and in the 4th Qtr that was down to Mathews who is struggling a bit himself with the shin.

We made them punt eight times, were one for one stopping them on 4th down, held them to 4 plays or less on 10 drives, had two INT's on two other drives, and Detroit was 3-15 on 3rd down conversions.

I thought their performance was beyond good. As bad as our offense was this could have been a loss by an embarrasing number to a 2-10 team that our D turned into a game we should have won.

Again, I love you, but you're so full of BS.

If you've actually seen Pettigrew play, you wouldn't put him up there with Finley or Gates, at all.

He's as much Finley as MJD is Chris Johnson.

Both are good, but they're different types of players.

Of course he's better than 3rd string, 154th pick rookie Andrew Fricken' Quarless.

Comparing stats from Burleson to Driver directly and taking everything else out of the equation. Seems fair.

Driver has a better receiving group, doesn't get forced the ball. Driver doesn't have Calvin Johnson on the other side. Driver missed some time, already.

We have no RB so you put Jones against Best...

Rodgers > Johnson
Grant > Peterman
Sitton > Stafford

So, scientifically proven, we're way better than the Lions.

Burleson is also the clear-cut No. 2 WR on Detroit. Driver is stuck competing for opportunities with Green Bay. Furthermore, Driver has a proven track record. Burleson does not. Driver has also been banged up. Granted, Burleson has as well, but Burleson's injury hasn't been near as bad as what Driver has had to endure this season. He may of been active in 12 games, but Driver has really only played in nine games this season. There really is no comparison here. Driver is a better player than Burleson. He was last week and he is this week. You don't produce nearly 10,000 yards receiving on accident. Burleson is a journeyman.

The idea that you would compare Logan to Nelson is baffling me right now. Just because the announcers say Stefan Logan is a dangerous weapon doesn't make them right. They're listening to coaches all week long and they repeat what they hear. Most of the time, they are wrong. Logan has exactly nine carries this season. His career high was five against GB last week. Yeah, he's a real threat as a runner. He's a one trick pony. He returns kicks. That is it. He is hardly someone you have to game plan for like a Devin Hester or Josh Cribbs as well.

I also have to add that it is absurd to compare Pettigrew to Finley and Gates. Unbelievable in fact! Gates is a Hall of Fame TE. The second greatest TE in the last 20 years more than likely. Finley is a potential successor to Gates on every level. People tune into watch Finley play. He is that good.

Pettigrew is a blocking TE. He is more Bubba Franks than he is Finley or Gates. In fact, he was drafted high because of his blocking. That is the strength of his game. Pettigrew is a throwback TE more than he is a Finley or a Gates. He isn't a bad player by any means. I actually like him, but he shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence as Finley or Gates.

A more realistic list would look as follows.....

1. Calvin Johnson, Detroit
2. Greg Jennings, Green Bay
3. James Jones, Green Bay
4. Donald Driver, Green Bay
5. Jahvid Best, Detroit
6. Brandon Pettigrew, Detroit
7. Nate Burleson, Detroit
8. Jordy Nelson, Green Bay

Green Bay has three guys in the top half of this list. Detroit has three guys in the bottom half of this list.

That is a good example as to the structure of both teams' rosters at least at the skill positions.

I could swear that Flynn in 1/2 a game had more yards than Slaton in a full game with those Great weapons of Det.. Flynn must be a god to do that with our garbage WR.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!
