I think Non made this all up to give me a woody lol. The part that gave it away is when they said Ted Thompson might trade up lol. Nice try Non but i did get a woody fast lol.

Damn dfoster settle down you are acting like we only have one draft pick this year geez. It would be time to celebrate with Crabtree in Green and Gold 🙂 Maybe Ted Thompson reads these forums and saw where i said i would kiss his ass so hes targeting Crab. But i will die laughing because i was saying all last year we would be awesome with Crab.

Also Dfoster you keep bringing up the so called bad cleveland interview but your ok to forget about Raji and his drug use and Smith and his troubled proven problems. Admit it you don't want Crab because it will make me happy lol.

time to start finding somewhere to get my Packer Crabtree jersey .

Man i want our pick to get here and if your in gameday chat your going to hear me going nuts lol.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

This is exactly the type of drama I was hoping for a few weeks back in this discussion... love it.

Listen.. he is the best player in this draft, bar none. At least based on college performance and consistency. So sure he would be probably at the top of the board..

Why leak it.. so the rest of the NFL folks know where he resides on the Packers board and that we would consider him highly at 9... this puts others on notice that if they want Crabtree, they better get in front of the Packers or offer up considerable value if indeed he is there at 9.

Why have someone leap ahead of us to get him.. it allows one more quality player to fall to us at 9... be Raji or one of the prime tackles. Maybe someone else.

People fear taking Crabtree at 9, why?

Look at the contracts that the 9 player is getting.. considerably less than 7 on up... so he would be slotted at around 20 million in guaranteed money over 4 to 5 years... Jennings isn't signing in the neighborhood in terms of money... look at Fitzgerald's contract scale it back a little and you are in the right district..

Where this might ruffle feathers is with a Driver.. but he seems not to be that type of guy.. the "money" shows respect type guy.

I say the odds the Crabtree is there at 9 is very suspect at this time.. but the drama is worth the discussion.

Today is going to be a wind up the :Marine" clock day... lol. 😉

Z-- lol

This is why I am having a complete change of plans for this draft day. I fully intended to carry on a reasonable, cogent (sober) discussion of the various scenarios going into the draft.

I intended to sit here quietly and respectfully absorbing the perspectives of my fellow members, carefully considering their point of view as contrasted with my own.

Then [strike]some friggin' doggie [/strike]Rourke came along and threw up the article regarding[strike] that diva prick[/strike] Michael Crabtree, resending me into yet another froth on the subject, on the very day of the year in which I am most [strike]prick-like[/strike] full of angst.

The pool table and bar beckon, for both my sanity, and for hopefully a reduction in the sheer obnoxiousness of my projected posts.

It's a safety issue.

Too bad your not closer... I have both in the basement.. well the bar could be worked upon.. as I haven't completed that yet. Speaking of which.. I hope the wife doesn't hop on.. because I will get another dose of the "basement" isn't finished talk while I sit and yammer on this board for hours.. lol.

BTW... If Crabtree is on the clock at 9.. I fully expect the Packer blog world to explode for a couple hours.. prior and post the pick.. pure entertainment.

I would not mind him being picked at 9.. or not..

But I look at it this way.. the Vikes a couple years ago faced a similar option with Taylor on the roster and AP on the board... they had other needs... but they choose the best player in that draft based on college production and consistency.. that is my scope on the pick.. he is the best player in this draft... at 9 wouldn't you be silly not to make him the pick or trade for a value to sell the pick.

Even though it might create many emotional implosions around the Packer world he is the best player in the draft, him there at 9 is the best case scenario for the Pack.

This is a deep draft at OT and DT... we would still find some serviceable players in 2 and 3...

If we can draft Crab and we select an OT instead i will be so pissed. It will remind me back in the days of passing on the likes of Barry Sanders, Deion Sanders and Derrick Thomas and we ended up with the incredible bust Tony "steroids" Mandrich.

I am also against taking Crabtree. Nothing against his ability, but really, how much better would the WR corp be? So if this would happen, we would basically can Martin. IMO Crabtree is going to be a player with about identical skills to Jones. They are both about the exact same size. And Jones has two years experience with the offense and Rodgers. Nelson has 1.

I would expect Crabtree to make #4 in the depth at best (barring injuries). I do not see the offensive production increasing at all with Crabtree. Oline, Dline and this team improves much more IMO.

I think I have to disagree PFWT. Crabtree would be #3 on the depth chart in my opinion, and that'd be no small feat considering our talent.

Going with Crabtree sures up our WR position. James Jones has been inconsistent for the last year and a half - both when he has played and in terms of getting playing time in the first place. He started out strong for the first half of his rookie year, but seems to have been on the slide since.

Jordy, while being good, is not anywhere near taking on double teams to free up Jennings. Driver is 34, not getting any younger, and quite frankly he's not the play maker of a couple of years ago either IMO. Jennings is our only true stud, and he's going to get double teamed a lot. No one on the rest of our roster at WR currently can take away double teams from Greg. I honestly think Crabtree would do that.

Worst case scenario, Greg gets injured long term. You lose the only consistent playmaker on your team. Crabtree gives you a lot of protection at the WR spot, and he instantly makes your pass attack killer.

But once again, at what cost do you do that? WR certainly isn't the most pressing need, and if you get a chance to trade out of #9 if Crabtree is there, you can get more players and create more competition at spots more of a concern than WR. Save yourself a good chunk of money too, although I'm thinking the contract Crabtree gets will be used by leverage by Eugene Parker anyways.

Martha Careful (10-May) : 1. this is true of all our linemen. 2. His run block is fine. 3. If all OL played like he has, we would win SB.
beast (10-May) : Meyers pass blocking is really good, his run blocking is really not.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : Packers have claimed DE Spencer Waege off of waivers from the 49ers and waived DT Rodney Mathews.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : And the OL protections seem to be good.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : I really don't know lol. I don't see him getting blown up.
Zero2Cool (9-May) : -3 buwahhhahaaha
Mucky Tundra (9-May) : 4th
Zero2Cool (9-May) : because he's 1st
Mucky Tundra (9-May) : Myers isn't even the 3rd best C on the roster atm
Martha Careful (9-May) : I am not sure I understand the Myers hate. He was consistently our third best lineman. RG and LT were worse.
beast (9-May) : Just saying I don't think moving Myers would help Myers.
beast (9-May) : Center is usually considered the easiest position physically if you can handle the snap stuff.
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : Bust it is then
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Context. Sounds like Myers won't be cross-trained. C or bust.
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : @BookOfEli_NFL Packers pass game coordinator, Jason Vrable said that Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks shared a placed in Florida while train
Mucky Tundra (8-May) : For now...
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers go about evaluating their "best five," OL coach Luke Butkus makes on thing clear: "Josh Myers is our center."
beast (8-May) : Though I'm a bit surprised letting go of CBs, I thought we needed more not less
beast (8-May) : It was confusing with two DB Anthony Johnson anyways
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers actually had Ray Lewis on the phone.
Zero2Cool (8-May) : Packers wanted to draft Ray Lewis. Ravens stole him.

Mucky Tundra (4-May) : @mattschneidman Matt LaFleur on how he tore his pec: “Got in a fight with the bench press. I lost.”
Zero2Cool (3-May) : Jordan Love CAN sign an extension as of today. Might tak weeks/months though

Zero2Cool (2-May) : May 3rd. Extension day for Jordan Love. (soonest)
Zero2Cool (1-May) : USFL MVP QB Alex McGough moved to WR. So that's why no WR drafted!
earthquake (1-May) : Packers draft starters at safety ever few years. Collins, Clinton-Dix, Savage
beast (1-May) : Why can't the rookies be a day 1 starter? Especially when we grabbed 3 of them at the position
dfosterf (1-May) : Not going to be shocked if Gilmore goes to the Lions.
dfosterf (1-May) : I hear you dhazer, but my guess would be Gilmore Colts and Howard Vikings from what little has been reported.
Mucky Tundra (30-Apr) : S learn from McKinney who learns from Hafley who learns from the fans. Guaranteed Super Bowl
Zero2Cool (30-Apr) : could*
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : Safeties should learn from Xavier.
dhazer (29-Apr) : And what about grabbing a Gilmore or Howard at CB ? Those are all Free Agents left
dhazer (29-Apr) : out of curiosity do they try and sign Simmons or Hyde to let these young safeties learn from, they can't be day 1 starters.
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : I miss having Sam Shields.
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : Not that he's making excuses, just pointing it out
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : That's for dang sure. Make our erratic kicker have no excuse!
packerfanoutwest (28-Apr) : having a great long snapper is gold
Zero2Cool (28-Apr) : LaFleur looking like he had some weight. Coachin will do that lol
