Most likely when there's a penalty in a return, like a holding or something, it changes the play altogether. If the guy hadn't held him, it's possible he would've tackled Jordy earlier.

As to our return game, I don't need a breakaway threat. A solid dependable guy is fine with me.

Yeah, the hold is what sprung him, although as I recall, it was not a real blatant hold. Jordy is not going to manufacture a TD on a return the way an elite return man would (those guys are rare anyway, and they only do it once or twice a year), but he could take one all the way if the blocking is perfect and he is able to build up a head of steam.

The better blocking takes away the need for the blockers to hold. Better blocking and fewer penalties. They worked very hard on both in preseason.

With both, Jordy and the other returners would have been much better. If the perpetrator of the hold that brought back Jordy's kick had better position, he wouldn't have had to hold. It would have been the block that sprung him, rather than the hold that sprung him.
