Who are our inside LBs?

Barnett, Hawk, Bishop, Chillar.

Yeah, we're gonna hang on to Hawk (as we should). I feel as though his draft selection still holds him hostage. If he was a third rounder we'd all be talking about what a solid player he is. Isn't that a little messed up?

And if you think I'm simply poo-pooing any critical discussion regarding Hawk, I'm not. He isn't a perfect player. Discussions are merited. But it seems to me that fans are too eager to dump off solid players if they haven't lived up to huge expectations. It's hard for me to imagine a scenario wherein Hawk leaves and our LBs as a whole are better for it.
William Henderson didn't have to run people over. His preferred method was levitation.

They can't cut Hawk.. won't happen. But if someone was willing to trade for him and clear the path to see what we have in Bishop completely.. I could see that.

Bishop is hurt. I think he'll be traded before Hawk does.

Why do you always have to bang on Bishop. ;)

What next.. saying Colledge is inconsistent and Bush has mental lapses at times.

I just am not impressed with him anymore. Kind of like the raves about Shields, I hear them, but am not seeing the reason for them. It's almost like 'hey lets boast about this guy because its a change!' and there's no real substance behind it.

I'm not seeing him do much, other than special teams. I think he's a more versatile version of Abdul Hodge.

It isn't about expectations or draft position. It is about bang for buck, and these two guys waaaaaaaay overpaid. I don't want anyone traded, but I do want salaries to somewhat reflect production. I'm still flabergasted by Poppinga's contract and that has been 3 years now.l

No, it isn't.

Let's say you are hired for a Senior level position and are making about 20% more than the guy they hired to do the Junior role, who was fresh out of college.

If he performs better than you, you're in trouble.

I think the analogy fits to football. First round picks have higher expectations that they better live up to. We had higher expectations for Raji and CM3 and so far both have fulfilled them, especially CM3.

Your not impressed because he doesn't get a ton of playing time to impress and he can't cover man to man for a lick.. much like Hawk.

The difference between him and Hawk is in the box..

Ya the guy isnt the best at his position but IMO hawk is a solid LB he makes a lot of tackles and he is a good tackler. If I recall he was second on the team with 89 tackles 1 sack and 2 int ya not the best but hey it is productive.I looked at all the seasons since he was drafted he is a consistent LB he was either 1st or 2nd on the team with tackles and he does make plays once in a while.

dfosterf (25-Jun) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
