I wonder if a fan with too much time of his hands could use twitter to derail a rivals attempt to sign a player.

Say there was a particularly vain NFL player with a fragile ego (most of them surely) considering joining the Vikes or Bears. You pretend to be a fan of that team and just hurl a tirade of foul mouthed abuse at the guy telling him what a complete screw up he is and that the fans don't want him. It probably doesn't make any difference, but if they read on the day they were deciding which club to choose I wonder it might sway them.

Looks like we didn't offer our boy Clifton a deal after all:

CliftonSmith22: Let me clear something up GB never offered me anything but a workout and I do play for money the money never takes away how much I love this. It is always love first money second.. But when you are out in the cold with a family because of that state of mind some things have to change!

Damn I really hope Ted pulls through on this one.
Keeps Tramon off the field plus this guy has got skills, undrafted and made it to the probowl. Only major knock he has is fumbles and I think thats horse shit, almost all of them were on offense, split between carries and receptions.
The guy has 111 career returns split between KO's and P's, and only 3 fumbles... Not bad at all in my eyes, plus he has great averages. Keep him out of the offense and it's a win win.

Not the ONLY major knock. He was on IR for concussions, and they can be a recurring problem, and his knee(s?) kept him out of the first two preseason games. A returner with bad knees = Will Blackmon = cut.

Packers are usually slow in offering contracts. Though I think he has his eyes set on Miami considering it's closer to home.

Honestly, I've never heard of him.
I wonder who unlucky #53 currently is on our roster. Made the Pro Bowl a few years back as a return guy, he would fit like a glove on this team. In 2008 he had a PR and KR for a TD. I say sign him.

His knees were a gout issue.. not structural in nature.

@CliftonSmith22, Mate, we need you up in Titletown. There is a gaping hole in our return dept and you can be the guy to fill it. Come back!

You should have told him he is walking away from "A RING" he can wear to every social gathering for the rest of his life.

Seriously, who do you cut to pick Smith (a RB) up? One of our FBs or TEs?

Now, S Gerald Alexander wouldn't have that problem...but the defenses he played for so far haven't exactly shined (Jags 27th against the pass in 2009; Detroit 27th in 2008/31st in 2007), and it says something that he got cut from one of those.

From his stats, he looks more like a run-stopping SS than a cover guy. He's started 27 games (played in 36), and has 111 solo tackles but only 11 passes defended (but has 4 interceptions).

edited for grammar...
