They said it was because Matthews and Jenkins are our best pass rushers, and when they were on the same side, opposing teams would roll their O-line in that direction to neutralize them. The coaches think it will be harder for opposing teams to block both Matthews and Jenkins if they are on opposite sides.

The way it was, opposing teams could probably block both players with three linemen, but now they will have to double team both of them to make sure they get blocked, which you just can't afford to do on every snap because it opens up too many opportunities for other players on the defense.

Pickett being next to Mathews should also give them pause trying to single him and double Clay. With a healthy Raji collapsing the pocket from the front if you single him, Jenkins is the essence of chaos and that leaves Jones to be forgotten and have sneak up on them.

If they double Clay, someone is going to do some damage.

I think Jones is pretty underrated people will likley be unaware how good he can be some people forgot that he did a hell of a job in kampmans place last year and got 4 sacks in like 5 or 6 games
