William Henderson didn't have to run people over. His preferred method was levitation.

Brett Favres fourth quarter was one of his (or anyones) worst ever. In a tight game, the Packers last four drives went 0, 7, 0 and 2 yards. From the start of the fourth quarter (an INT), Favre was 2-for-8 for 5 yards with two INTs. More than a third of Favres 236 yards came on the second-quarter 90-yard catch-and-run by Donald Driver, and he threw two INTs to Eli Mannings zero in a situation where you would expect the cagey veteran to play well under pressure and the newbie to fold like a girl at the laundromat. Favre threw nine picks in his final seven games dating back to the regular-season loss at Dallas, and if he comes back for another season it'll be to right the wrongs of a disappointing finish.

Sooo anyone think that this kind of had to do with the ushering out of Favre? We've heard about how Chilly gets mad over in Minnesota because Favre audibles out of a lot of his play calls. What if, on these four drives, Favre was calling his own plays and pissing off McCarthy to no end?

I figured if it was a throwback article I'd pick a throwback discussion point.

Rumor was that the last pass ( the int) he did call an audible and that pissed MM off. cuz the story goes Brett was told NOT to audible out of that play

I think this was said on WSSP 1250 am way back when

Yep, mm wanted to run and the play was audibled at the line. From what I was told, Brett was specifically told on that drive not to audible to a run. I have nothing to support that, other than I also read the same thing a from other sources too.

There were many times Brett audibled and we scored too. So, him audibling shouldn't be viewed as a knock on Brett if one were to go that thought.

I remember reading an article that said a lot people within the organization lost confidence in Favre and wanted him gone after that game. Hard to tell if it's true, because nobody's going to go on record saying that. Maybe the truth will come out eventually.

Just because the results are good doesn't mean it won't piss of the coaches. Imagine as a coach that draws up large gameplans with specific plays to open up weakness in the defense and you have a player that thinks he knows what plays to call better than you so he audibles out of them. And we're talking a lot more audibles than the average QB. All that time you spent drawing up those plays to help your offense and he's not even using them... Not to mention that it'd be hard to get in a rhythm as a play-caller if your QB keeps changing plays.

All this will be forgotten come February 2011.

And NSD, you are a quasi-verbose psuedo-intellectual.

Wow, I'm a pseudo-intellectual. I'm flattered that you think I've separated myself even that far from the ranks of the Neanderthal. :D

Yes, you may be my groupie, but I will demand daily favors.
