I guarantee that if Favre was not on the Vikings' team, you would not try to defend the Vikings like this.

That's for damn sure. It's kind of disgusting how adamantly he fends for the Vikings. It sometimes fools me as to which team he roots for. Then I remember its dhazer and he adores Favre. Nothing wrong with that, in my opinion.

I like the part about Woodsons body finally realizing how old it is...

Yeah where is he getting that from? He just won the DPOY last year, and hasn't shown anything this offseason that would make any person that has any sense whatsoever think he has lost a step....

I remember alot of people on this board were laughing at the Vikes wrs.

I actually think Camarillo was a good pickup for them, he is a Welker type wr.

Oh and for scoring they do have a decent rb to hand the ball off to also.

And you say this why? I didn't say anything about Favre. I understand you can't don't like giving credit to any other teams, or is it you want to hop on Favres dick?

It is not the WRs. Their first team almost got Favre killed, he threw 2 picks, fumbled once and that "pretty good RB" had 3 straight stuffed at the goal line. Why? Because their line is having problems. Favre is also not going to have the luxury of easy games to work on his timing. They start out with SB Champion New Orleans Saints. It doesn't get a whole lot easier from there. He won't have a great year if they struggle to protect him against Seattle. Considering the meat grinders he will have to face for the first 6 of 8 games.

They also didn't face a full Packer O-line last year. Mathews had not developed into the beast yet and we were down to 3rd string strong safety. When we only had 2 to start with. If they had, they would have lost. They already almost lost because the dropped TD on 4th down and the bad PI call that robbed Woodson of an INT in the endzone. When they only won by 7. I think that gap has them trailing. Without Rice, it just got bigger.

But really, what he says isn't that weird.

Camarillo was a steal. Some of the surest hands in the league.

Harvin had these migraines last year, as well. It's bad, but it held him out of just one game the entire season.

Really, that receiving group is only missing Rice, which is bad, but not horrible. And their depth is a lot better than a year ago.

AP will keep on running.

That O-line is looking horrible, though. McKinnie making the Pro Bowl was one of the most ridiculous picks in quite a while. Even Vikings fans agree. Herrera isn't that good, as evidenced by DeGeare making a run for his spot, already. Loadholt is huge and a mauling RT, but he better not face any speed on the outside (Ugh, Matthews). Sullivan is no Birk, regardless of what these Vikes fans try to tell me and Steven Hutchinson, while still a great guard, isn't getting any younger.

I think the bigger issue isn't Favre's receivers so much as his health:

MMQB

Brett Favre: He's already taking injections in his wounded ankle.

After his so-so eight series Saturday night on the hard floor of Mall of America Field (I prefer to call it the Metrodome, because that's what we know it to be), Favre went into the trainers' room in the Vikes' locker room and got an injection of lubricant in the left ankle that has three times been operated on to remove loose bodies. "Like a grease fitting,'' he said.

Noted orthopedist Dr. James Andrews did the most recent surgery May 22, with an interested party in the operating theater: Deanna Favre. "They took out a cup full of stuff -- bone and all these other loose bodies,'' Brett Favre said Saturday night. "Deanna watched and told me, 'If you don't feel a lot better, I'll be shocked.''

Favre feels better, but not really that good. He explained the arthroscopic procedure that happened in May and what's happened since. He said Dr. Andrews made two incisions on the top of his left ankle, where the ankle flexes above the foot, and sucked out the loose bodies. He said Dr. Andrews wasn't surprised a significant spur returned when Favre went for a re-exam a month ago -- but he was surprised it happened so fast. The Vikings will attempt to manage the pain the spur brings on, but Favre said he didn't think he'd take any painkillers stronger than Motrin.

"It's catching up with me, all this stuff,'' said Favre, who turns 41 in October.

"I asked you this a year ago -- Do you think you can last the season?''' I said to Favre. "And you said you didn't know. How about now?''

"I don't know. I have no idea, really," he answered. "My ankle just seems to get easier to sprain. I know everyone thinks the New Orleans game [the NFC Championship Game] killed me, but it was bad before then. Now we'll see if I can make it. My mind's telling me one thing, but my body's telling me something else.''

I've said this all along: This ankle thing's a little different that the weariness he felt a year ago. There could come a time where his mobility is so compromised that Favre won't be able to get out of the way of the rush consistently. It wouldn't surprise me if the ankle knocked him out for a few games this year.

packerfanoutwest (1h) : both games Watson missed, Packers won
Martha Careful (3h) : I hope all of you have a Merry Christmas!
Mucky Tundra (13h) : Oh I know about Jacobs, I just couldn't pass up an opportunity to mimic Zero lol
buckeyepackfan (13h) : Jacobs was just sat down, Watson re-injured that knee that kept him out 1 game earlier
buckeyepackfan (13h) : I needed .14 that's. .14 points for the whole 4th quarter to win and go to the SB. Lol
Mucky Tundra (13h) : Jacobs gonna be OK???
Zero2Cool (13h) : Watson gonna be OK???
packerfanoutwest (17h) : Inactives tonight for the Pack: Alexander- knee Bullard - ankle Williams - quad Walker -ankle Monk Heath
packerfanoutwest (17h) : No Jaire, but hopefully the front 7 destroys the line of scrimmage & forces Rattler into a few passes to McKinney.
packerfanoutwest (17h) : minny could be #1 seed and the Lions #5 seed
Zero2Cool (20h) : We'd have same Division and Conference records. Strength of schedule we edge them
Zero2Cool (20h) : I just checked. What tie breaker?
bboystyle (20h) : yes its possible but unlikely. If we do get the 5th, we face the NFCS winner
Zero2Cool (20h) : Ahh, ok.
bboystyle (20h) : yes due to tie breaker
Zero2Cool (20h) : I mean, unlikely, yes, but mathematically, 5th is possible by what I'm reading.
Zero2Cool (20h) : If Vikings lose out, Packers win out, Packers get 5th, right?
bboystyle (20h) : Minny isnt going to lose out so 5th seed is out of the equation. We are playing for the 6th or 7th seed which makes no difference
Mucky Tundra (21h) : beast, the ad revenue goes to the broadcast company but they gotta pay to air the game on their channel/network
beast (21h) : If we win tonight the game is still relative in terms of 5th, 6th or 7th seed... win and it's 5th or 6th, lose and it's 6th or 7th
beast (21h) : Mucky, I thought the ad revenue went to the broadcasting companies or the NFL, at least not directly
Zero2Cool (21h) : I think the revenue share is moot, isn't it? That's the CBA an Salary Cap handling that.
bboystyle (22h) : i mean game becomes irrelevant if we win tonight. Just a game where we are trying to play spoilers to Vikings chance at the #1 seed
Mucky Tundra (22h) : beast, I would guess ad revenue from more eyes watching tv
Zero2Cool (22h) : I would think it would hurt the home team because people would have to cancel last minute maybe? i dunno
beast (22h) : I agree that it's BS for fans planning on going to the game. But how does it bring in more money? I'm guessing indirectly?
packerfanoutwest (23h) : bs on flexing the game....they do it for the $$league$$, not the hometown fans
Zero2Cool (23h) : I see what you did there Mucky
Zero2Cool (23h) : dammit. 3:25pm
Zero2Cool (23h) : Packers Vikings flexed to 3:35pm
Mucky Tundra (23h) : Upon receiving the news about Luke Musgrave, I immediately fell to the ground
Mucky Tundra (23h) : Yeah baby!
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : LUKE MUSGRAVE PLAYING TONIGHT~!~~~~WOWHOAAOHAOAA yah
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I wanna kill new QB's ... blitz the crap out of them.
beast (23-Dec) : Barry seemed to get too conservative against new QBs, Hafley doesn't have that issue
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : However, we seem to struggle vs new QB's
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Should be moot point, cuz Packers should win tonight.
packerfanoutwest (23-Dec) : ok I stand corrected
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Ok, yes, you are right. I see that now how they get 7th
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : 5th - Packers win out, Vikings lose out. Maybe?
beast (23-Dec) : Saying no to the 6th lock.
beast (23-Dec) : No, with the Commanders beating the Eagles, Packers could have a good chance of 6th or 7th unless the win out
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I think if Packers win, they are locked 6th with chance for 5th.
beast (23-Dec) : But it doesn't matter, as the Packers win surely win one of their remaining games
beast (23-Dec) : This is not complex, just someone doesn't want to believe reality
beast (23-Dec) : We already have told you... if Packers lose all their games (they won't, but if they did), and Buccaneers and Falcons win all theirs
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I posted it in that Packers and 1 seed thread
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I literally just said it.
packerfanoutwest (23-Dec) : show us a scenario where Pack don't get in? bet you can't
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Falcons, Buccaneers would need to win final two games.
