Being a Packers junkie I have been reading all I can on practices from fans and the media. This is what I'm hearing so far:

Clifton only practices once a day same as last year.
Sounds like the same for Tauscher.
They will both make the roster and don't need too much work. The guys behind them do. Also less chance of wearing them down or risking injury.
Most likely guys coming off injury will get rest.

Sounds like a good practices for Deitrich-Smith and Giacomini. Giacomini is suprising many people.

Not so good for Lang and Harrell. Harrell is looking average. Lang without the spring practices is very rusty.

Bulaga is holding his own against the #1's Jenkins and Matthews getting schooled every so often. If he is doing that early in his rookie camp then he has some real potential to eventually be great. Matthes burned Clifton once yesterday.
The good thing is that Bulaga is getting a lot of reps against quality players.

Same for Burnett.

Sounds like there is some hope for Neal. My hopes for Wynn need to be more revised.

Shields is the only rookie free agent that has made much of an impression so far.

My fear is growing that this season's punter is not yet on the roster.

The punters results sounded like real NFL punter type efforts, from what I read in the paper today. Tim has a strong leg but has a slow delivery and had a shank. Chris had consistency and decent distance and hang time. The maturity of 5 year in Aussie Pro Football may help him.
I want to go out like my Grandpa did. Peacefully in his sleep.
Not screaming in terror like his passengers.

These kinds of tiny tidbits are awesome. Bulaga starting off strong, I like it.

I am so relieved that TC is here. Packersnews.com articles were getting pretty boring. The fact that the Packers are playing football again makes everything better.

Bryan comes with another handy extra, his end under end punt. It tends to bounce backwards when it hits the ground, so you won't get as many touchbacks.

Both did pretty well in getting it downed or out of bounds in the 20.

Masthay kicked one into the end-zone.

Our batch of undrafted WRs have looked pretty average, dropping some easy catches. Right now, it's still Swain's job to lose. Not that you can say much after just 2 days of TC on a subject like this.

Rodgers has been struggling with his accuracy a bit, but he had that same problem during TC last year.

The defense is absolutely whooping our offense's behind. A lot of picks, pass break-ups and potential sacks.

P. Lee has been looking good on the field. He made some plays in pass coverage and when rushing the passer. Let's hope he can stay healthy.

At the end of today's practice, just for one play, they had Cullen Jenkins standing up, playing OLB.

Brandon Jackson is looking good. He's showing of his blocking and receiving skills, which we already know he had, but he's making some nice jukes and moves, as well.

Those are all the things I can think off, just from the top of my head, and that California hadn't already mentioned.

Can't wait for the regular season to start.

now this...this i just loved reading. we already know what our offense can do under pressure. i'd rather our D be better than our O, personally.

I agree with Twinkiegorilla.

Eh, I think you have to temper that with the fact that this is day 2 of practice. Defense always coalesces way ahead of the offense.

Edit: I disagree with Twinkiegorilla. Things are back to normal. All is right in Packerland. Lol

Yes, but every year the "offense didn't dominate" refrain in training camp was followed by "OL wasn't dominant" in the regular season.

I'm not going to judge the year's possibilities by a week or two of training camp, either, but I *am* skeptical enough of the OL that I will find it easier to worry earlier than most. Because I've also heard the "it's early and the defense always works better earlier" refrain before...only to be followed by more than enough lingering and continuing questions on the OL.

But still, I'm goofy by nature. šŸ™‚

I like the thinking here.

Only way Matthew-Barnett-Bishop-Chillar stick IMO is if Packers think they're OK vs run but really want to improve LB zone pass coverage. That's where it makes sense. Because that group is dramatically better than status quo vs. pass. Finley was having fits today. Of course, Finley said he was being held. They all say that. But you do weaken yourself vs the run.

Sounds like a set-up you'd love to have ready in games like those against the Vikings, Steelers and Cardinals last year.
