QB!! no seriously

FB starting and back up. (I don't think they will keep 3 this year.)
RB backup.
Punter
It will be interesting to see how the OL shakes out. Does Bulaga win the LG spot?
WR #5 spot
TE do they keep D Lee?
DL what impact does Jolly's trial have? Can Harrell play injury free?
CB how does it look after P Lee, underwood and Blackmon return from their injuries. How soon does Harris get back on the field?
S does Bigby or Burnett start?

OL
WR #3 spot. I prefer Jones but if he has the dropsies like last year, I'd be rooting for Jordy
QB #3 - he has to prove he's good enough to earn a roster spot or we go with 2 QBs in '10.

IMO They cut Hall or trade him for a late pick, while Kuhn sticks due to his resigning and splits snaps with Quinn 65-35% depending on the play selection, both being solid in ST.

Jackson starts the year as the #2 ahead of Starks and behind Grant. Jackson takes 80% of the backup duties till about halfway through the year when Starks starts to impress and finishes the year with a near 50/50 split.

Bulaga Isn't even given the chance to compete for the G spot and focuses purely on T. Eventually one of our aged T's go down, giving him the opportunity to fill in, has a couple shaky games then settles down and has an above average last half.

Swain and Dillon battle it out for the 5th and final WR spot. With Dillon winning out in the end because of his return insurance and due to the fact that the 4 receivers and 2 TE's will dominate nearly every reception.

I believe Lee begins the year as the #2 TE, around game 6 Havner returns and Lee is moved before the trade deadline for a late round pick. Quarless has half a year to develop behind Lee, then takes over the backup duties, and is great insurance if Finley (heaven forbid) ever gets hurt.

Just my thoughts as of now, no real relevance just opinions, any thoughts?

For me Bigby vs Burnett will be big. With Jolly out, DE will be interesting, I'm not holding my breath, but it would be great to see Harrell healthy get healthy for the future. The third CB spot will also be interesting, as well as the for left quard. These are the battles I'm looking forward to.

FB Most likely one of them will get cut but which one?

TE Most likely Crabtree and one other will get cut but which one? (I wouldn't mind going 4 TEs this year while you have Quarless mainly on the bench to let him learn for a year like the did with FB Johnson)

WR A battle for the 3rd and 5th spots. Jones and Nelson battling for the 3rd spot, and I think Swain will win the 5th spot.

DL After Harrell and Neal it's about a wide open battle for one or two spots on the DL

OLB I think Matthews, Jones and Poppinga are going to make it at OLB but that last OLB spot is wide open...

S Bigby vs. Burnett for a starting spot and most likely will have to Martin, Blackmon or Bigby. If Bigby is the starter he's not going to get cut but as a back-up he offers less on STs and all three have injury problems over the last two year.

CB Bush vs. Bell vs. Harris getting healthy and not being on the PUP. Also a battles for the 3rd CB spot with Underwood vs. Lee as it's been said Underwood has been making less mistake but Lee has been making more plays.

Bulaga shouldn't be playing any position other than LT.

I will look forward to the DT battle. I think that will be interesting with no Jolly and with the added rookies.

Agreed with Mckennj3 about Bulaga only playing T. Our Ts won't be around forever. He needs reps as T and only T. I hate to say this, but he will most likely be starting some games on either side. I'd love for Cliffy and Tausch to play all 19 games, but let's be realistic.

burnett and bigby - even if bigby starts the first few games I have a feeling burnett will be there close by in the wings to take his spot if bigby messes up

LOLB - not really sure if anyone is competing there really; we have jones and pop mentioned but I really hope we get some competition at that spot.

DL - now that jolly is out; we have pickett and neal and err the other guy forgot his name. Can mention harrell but wtf waste of money with that dude.

1) Punter - One has to prove himself or Ted Thompson will bring in yet another punter. The job is not granted it must be earned.

2) Return man - If Blackmon doesn't perform here he may be cut. Could Starks be the guy

3) Defensive Line depth chart - Can Harrell earn a roster spot? Will the season have just be Wynn and Neal as backups each on a side and the 7th rounder be inactive?

4) TE - Can the rookie catch as well as Havner? Can he get open like Donald Lee? Is he just a practice squad candidate? Did the Packers draft a bust?

5) O-line practice squad. We know the 5 starters. Spitz, Lang, and Bulaga will be the back ups. Evan-Deitrich and Barbre will compete for the inactive spot on the 53 roster. Can Giacomini fend off the competition for the practice squad, does the rookie get it or are both on the practice squad?

6) Fullback depth chart - Does Quinn Johnson have the intelligence and pass catching ability to make it?

7) #5 CB - Will Pat Lee show any talent at all or drop off into the black hole of being a worthless bust? Imagine telling your family you were beat out by Jarrett Bush!!

8) RB depth - How fast does Starks learn blitz pickups? How smart is the guy and will he learn fast enough?
