Bout damn time the picks start to sign for the Packers. ;)

Packers sign three players
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on June 23, 2010 4:43 PM ET
We'd like to thank the Green Bay Packers for simultaneously signing three rookies, doing their part in the effort to save the rumor mill page from clutter.

Late-round picks guard/tackle Marshall Newhouse, running back James Starks and defensive end C.J. Wilson are all aboard.

Starks has received plenty of attention because he plays at a relatively thin position for the Packers. He will have to prove he can stay healthy after missing all of his senior season with a shoulder injury.

awe you just beat me to it...

I haven't heard much about the DE the Packers drafted and it hasn't sounded good for Newhouse... but gotta wait until they put on the pads to tell for sure...

We are born naked, wet and hungry. Then things get worse.

Newhouse is going to look slow without pads on.. the kid is a mauler.. can't wait to see him lock horns this offseason.

Watch for another kid to pop with pads on and has a remote shot of sticking on the roster. Nick McDonald. Small schooler than can play.

From what I've heard Newhouse has gotten used to letting his elbows out which really hurts a guys punch... basically if your elbow is out your getting the power from your forearm and triceps. If you elbow is in it's from the forearm, triceps and your chest muscles... the chest muscles are usually stronger than the arm muscles giving you much more power if your keep your arms in. And sounds like Newhouse hasn't looked smooth in his footwork.

I've heard McDonald has currently passed Newhouse on the depth chart though they have a lot battle to go. McDonald may have his own bad habits or getting a bit high at times in with his knees.

I think it's going to be fun watching these two battle for a practice spot and trying to beat out Barbre and Giacomini.

It's always good to hear about signings. The first round pick is the only one to worry about, and Bulaga was taken low enough in the round that we shouldn't have much to worry about this year. Also, he plays a nonglamorous position and is not expected to start right away.

I would definitely be trying to sign Bulaga now. That's the next person that would be on my list. But good job TT, nonetheless.

Usually they sign the starting at the lowest, ending in the highest. So Bulaga will probably be the last draft pick to sign... unless someone is trying to hold out for money...

No, the simple reason according to some is the Packers can't set the market for the slot signings.. we have to be a follower and be towards the end.. heaven forbid we have them inked with a week or two to spare before camp. 😉
