Got a notice we are getting kicked out. Landlady is right downstairs yet never said there was any problem. Didn't even have the decency to tell us WHY.
I went down to ask her....her answer? "Lots of reasons".
That was it....nice woman, hey?
Have to the end of july to find a place.

It's pretty obvious what the 'lots of reasons' are.

1, she's a Vikings fan.
2, you got a 300 on Wii, something she's not capable of.
3, see 1

Unless laws have changed since I helped my Aunt manage her Apartments in La Crosse and Eau Claire.. a clear defined reason must be given. Otherwise it is going to be tough to get a judge to evict and remove you from the dwelling.

Move to North Central Wisconsin.. I can have the basement apartment ready in a few weeks. ;)

The notice must be in writing and include the date, the rent due or lease clause the tenant has supposedly violated, or the rent owed, the type of notice, and the right to cure the problem, if the tenant has one. There are several types of termination notices:

"The oranges are dry; the apples are mealy; and the papayas... I don't know what's going on with the papayas!"

We had no lease. So we are screwed. I'm sure she could make up reasons, and how could we prove otherwise? And.....who the hell wants to stay where they are capable of pulling this kind of shit on you, when you have been there 3 years?

Sorry to hear this Cheesey.

In Illinois if you don't have a signed lease then there is a default lease that the State set up to protect tenant's rights. (There lefts too.)

Move close the the McDonalds with the free wifi.

Dang Alan. You seem to have the worst luck.

Hope you end up with a nicer place with cheaper rent. I don't know about Wisconsin, but right now in California, it's a renter's market. I'm assuming it's nationwide.
