C.J. Wilson had 27 sacks in his career at East Carolina.

Mike Neal is a physical stud whos is considered an above average pass rusher (16 sacks his junior and senior year). Only 5.5 his senior yr but when you had 10.5 as a junior and your the only good player on the DL how many double teams do you think he saw?

Marshall Newhouse is 6-4, 319 lbs, and ran a combine best 5.0 (for guards). Rated the 7th best G in the draft. My darkhouse future late round starter one day right here.

James Starks is 6-2, 218 lbs, 4.50 forty, caught 52 passes his junior year and had 1700 yards rushing and receiving. 102 catches out of the backfield in his career. Known as a one-cut runner. Seems like a guy that could spell Grant AND play 3rd down as a receiver out of the backfield.

I didn't know Burnett was 6-2, 209 lbs. I did know he had 14 INT's in his last two years and had the 2nd highest total in GT history.

Wilson, Newhouse, and Starks were all projected to go higher in the draft than they did.

The TE from Penn ST is the kid with an if because of attitude but they talk about him with "first round talent" so if we get lucky and he stops waking up stupid they could have something there.

I so hope that Newhouse doesn't fall victim to the Jamon Meredith treatment.

I don't think Meredith's skin color had anything to do with him being placed on the practice squad with hopes that he would slide through until a decision could be made in regards to our right tackle situation last season..

The Packers now know what they have and don't have in Barbre.. I think he is on his last thread in GB.

Breno probably as well..

That makes a huge difference coming into this season..

Now factor in that Meredith had motivation questions and more importantly was a tackle and nothing else probably also played into it.

Now.. if you have anything that point to a racial discrimination on the Packers part on the offensive line, I would love to read/hear it.

Remember guys like...

Barry, Kevin
Coston, Junius
Klemm, Adrian
Palmer, Tony
White, Chris
Whitticker, Will

All spent time in Green Bay with the Packers in this regimes era.

I confess to being a tad startled at seeing the race card thrown into this discussion. My point didn't go any farther than the thought of seeing Meredith slide onto our practice squad, only to be scooped up by Buffalo and thrust into a starting role. If we could keep Newhouse in house for long-term development, that would be ideal.

I don't think they'll let Newhouse slip out of their hands. One can only hope. Regardless, I finally feel like we are building up our O-line, both starting and backup. It's a gooooood feeling.

i think it is interresting, that teddy didn't trade down a single time in this draft. we all know that trade downs are usual for packer drafts, but this year teddy thought it was worth the pick and too hard to pass up rather than to trade down. all draftees seem to be very high on teddy's board. i like that a lot. we need quality, not quantity.

Pack93z and above: I think Dulak mentioned it as a joke. I've seen it been said in another post as funny with no problems but can't remember which one.

I hope we can finally ditch Breno already. Unless he's gonna actually PLAY why the hell is on our roster? I've always liked Barbre's athleticism but he doesn't seem strong or angry enough to man a starting position.

I don't agree.

The only thing "usual" is that the Packers will do what it takes to land the players they want. If the players that could be picked with the xth pick doesn't meet the requirements, then we trade down. If there's someone we like that we can grab, we'll go up and grab them (Thompson, Matthews). It doesn't mean we naturally like to trade down. We're just pragmatic.
