I'm not understand why people are excited we are at the Eagles for our first game. I think we should be careful for what we ask for.

I think getting the Eagles early is a positive rather than a negative.

agreed completely. Getting the eagles in week 1 when kolb has jitters would be much better that getting him late in the season imo.

You never know. It's not likely, but since we haven't seen him, it's possible. I don't think anyone expected Rodgers to play as well as he has.

Absolutely right that we don't know. The safe bet however is that Kolb is unlikely to repeat Rodgers' first two seasons. Of course, Matt Ryan beat us the first time he played against us so I'm not discounting Kolb. It'll be interesting seeing how he goes in pre-season. But I'm not too worried about our opener.

Eagles unsure if Jackson will be ready for season
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on April 21, 2010 11:11 AM ET
The injury to center Jamaal Jackson was one of the reasons Philadelphia's offensive line collapsed so badly against Dallas late last year.

That's why his recovery from ACL surgery is key to the Eagles and why this comment should cause Eagles fans to pause with a tough early season slate on tap:

"We have Nick [Cole]," Eagles general manager Howie Roseman said, "and I anticipate that Jamaal will be ready to go at some point during the season."

There is doubt whether Jackson will be ready for Week One. Stacy Andrews returned for the opener last year, and the team felt like he was rushed back. Jackson's injury is just one reason we wouldn't be surprised to see the Eagles take an interior lineman fairly early in the draft this week.

How do you figure? He's already thrown for a couple 300 yard games filling in for McNabb. who's to say he couldn't do better with more reps with the offense as 'the guy'? More consistency with the players are you makes you better.

I think we will win the game, but I think several are underestimating the whole 'new' QB thing. Kolb is more accurate of a thrower than McNabb was and if we have secondary issues and haven't fixed our problems from last season. It will be a long game for us.

That's exactly my point. He's started a whopping two games. More reps will surely make him a more consistent QB, don't you think? Wait, I know you think that. You just said it twice.

Anyway, sure he has started two games, but he's never had the team on his shoulders before. He was filling in. There will be a ton of pressure, especially with that Philly fan base. It may take him a little while to settle down.

The impression I'm getting is folks think he's green, has been on the bench his entire career. he's played in a few games, started a couple.

When you start over estimating things like this, that's when you get knocked on your ass and laughed at.

Will facing Kolb be easier than facing McNabb? I don't think so. Then again, I'm not a McNabb crotch licker. I thought he was good, but over rated. I'm thinking their won't be as many deep ball connections with Kolb though.
