Just reading the headline made me laugh out loud. The mental image was hilarious. Thanks for that. +1

Saying "burkha" just sounds weird. Makes the word a lot throatier than I'm used to hearing the Saudis on campus say it.

Here's an interesting comment I've read on this issue from a local forum:

"The big fuss in the US is about how dare the US President order the murder of a US citizen.

In fact that's they are the only ones he should be able to order the murder of.

How dare Americans think that there should be one law for everyone else, and a different one for them. That they should have rights but no-one else have them. That they should be arrested and brought to trial and given due process, but their President can summarily murder or lock up forever without rights or trial anyone who isn't anywhere in the world.

Americans really are the most arrogant people in the world."

I certainly would not take issue with that writer's central premise.

It would have been a nice touch if he at least took the time and trouble to put the GD French in the running...arrogance-wise.

Speaking of arrogance, I find this Aussie to be pretty damn arrog....

Oh, I wasn't agreeing with the arrogance part specifically. I was more agreeing with the idea that an American is the only kind of person the POTUS should be able to order killed. Due process is so 18th century. 😉

Heh. Nice.

I find the English to be a hell of a lot more arrogant than the Americans, yet the English have done pretty much nothing interesting other than music and literature in the past 50 years.

It's easy to hate the French, but I no longer do. Go to France, but leave Paris immediately, and you'll find the French people are pretty friendly and actually like us. The problem Americans have in France is that they go to Paris. Well, no shit they're rude. Imagine if a foreigner came to American and only went to New York City. They'd go back to their own country and say "Americans are a bunch of assholes."

All the Europeans and Asians I've talked to mention New York, Los Angeles, and sometimes Chicago when they plan their tours of the United States. The more interesting ones might toss in Boston. But they only check out the enormous cities, which I don't think are even the most interesting features of our country.

And Miami, Las Vegas, etc.

Those are the places you see in the media. Those are the big places with a huge amount of tourist attractions. Amsterdam, for instance, doesn't come close to the sheer size off those cities and everything in it. I can imagine that people would rather see that than some small town which they have 20 off in the area.

I know that, if I wasn't a Packers fan, but nr. 1 destination would be Miami. And you just have to see Times Square once in your lifetime, I think.
