Maybe Collins didn't want to get tied down any longer. He'll be 29 when he gets out of this contract. He'll still be in his prime, he'll still be sought after by other teams, he'll still have a ton of leverage. I think that he prefers to get resigned then, rather than stick two more years behind this contract which'll pay him way less than what he'll make in his first year.

Love that we've made this contract frontloaded like this.

Colllins and his agent get to hit the jackpot all over again in 4 years time.

I guess the Packers were happy to pay as they go.

If he outplays a 6 year deal he'd start getting upset after 4 years anyway.

Brilliant Management The Packers Organization Has.

Two signings today and both are so very solid.

Now add a few more pieces like a pass rusher opposite of Mathews some youth also in the draft, and this will be a "D" to be reckoned with.

This team has a plan people. There is no doubt about that, and I personally am very glad they do have a solid long term plan, and are not deviating from that plan by going crazy in F.A. over the last few years.

Life is good.

Glad he's signed. A little pricey, but front loaded which is key. We'll see how this one is structured as well.

It seems like a realistic contract. Most "long term" deals are really just short terms ones. That's why Gibril Wilson was released from the Raiders 2 years after signing his "long term" contract. Same thing with LaVarr Arrington and New York. They signed him to like a 6 year contract only to cut him after 1 year.

I am very glad they signed him. I was hoping he'd get what he deserves.

Again though.. it would be short sighted on his part.. he has to remember he got over 10 in his first year.

Again.. I think it might be chirping if anything to convert some of the bonus or incentives.
