(7) Richmond over (2) Villanova
(4) Purdue over (1) Duke

I know it's opinion.. But with the injuries to Purdue's best players.. They don't stand a chance to even make it to Duke, much less beat them.

I have Ohio State going fairly far, but losing I think in the Elite Eight.. They don't play with their depth (don't think they have any), and there's no way they can last very long against some of the nation's best.

Now, if I'm wrong, I'll be more than willing to come back and eat my serving of crow. But I seriously don't see Purdue or Ohio State doing anything special.

Richmond, on the other hand.. I can see beating 'Nova.

I suggest you at least read through that. Walt, who runs the site, is overall a pretty knowledgeable guy when it comes to any kind of sport. He's listed pros and cons of each team, and likely upsets and whatnot.

Awesome. I love all the football stuff he writes about. I saw that he did an NBA draft as well, but I didn't know that he had a March Madness write-up. Ty.

I only know bits of information on the Big Ten teams.. And that I watched the Big Ten Tournament, so I know the statuses of most of the players and how the teams play/sub.

With Hummel (Purdue's best player), Purdue stood a great chance of doing some damage in the tourney. Without him.. I don't think they'll get very far.

Nice.. Andy Katz breaks down every bracket.. here's the west breakdown.

I'll quote what he said about UTEP and Minny..

5. UTEP had such a complete meltdown against Houston in the C-USA final that I have to believe that was more of an aberration than a precursor of the Miners' play in the tourney. If you're looking for a double-digit seed that could get to the Sweet 16 or beyond in this bracket, then it's UTEP. The Miners were my sleeper at the beginning of the season, and I'm not backing off that now. Caracter and Randy Culpepper might be one of the best inside-outside tandems in the field.
....
7. No team in this bracket has had to deal with more issues than No. 11 Minnesota. The Gophers thought they would have Royce White, Trevor Mbakwe and Al Nolen the entire season and be a potential Big Ten title contender. But Mbakwe and White never got a chance to play due to legal issues, while Nolen was bumped midway through the season due to academics. Still, the Gophers found a way to bookend the season with an early win over Butler combined with beating all the top Big Ten teams in Ohio State, Michigan State, Wisconsin and Purdue. No. 6 Xavier is a trendy pick to advance into the Sweet 16, but if I'm looking for a double-digit seed in the bottom half of the West I'm going with No. 11 Minnesota.

This video is one of biggest reasons why I do NOT want them to expand the tournament field to 96 teams. You don't get this kind of excitement/celebration if you already know your team is likely going to be in the tournament.
