I also find it funny that all the years Manning loses it's cause he has such a bad team and it's everyones elses fault and yet when they won the SB he had 3td's against 7 int's for a 70 rating and yet the all you hear is how he led them to victory. I just wish other guys then the QB's got their credit

Funny thing, it's a team game but nobody seems to get that. Big Ben had the worst SB performance ever by a winning QB, yet he's known for winning 2 SBs. Ironically, in '09, he had an elite season and I don't think anyone can argue against that. Yet, they didn't even make the Playoffs. Go figure.

Back to Brees - he was arguably the best QB in '08 and the Saints are 8-8 and miss the Playoffs. In '09, he has pretty much the same year and they win the Super Bowl.

Team sport. Good point, Canadian.

Its also an interesting article about how Manning pretty much gets a pass for his 9-9 playoff record. Manning's interesting because I wonder if he will eventually get the same backlash from fans/media as Favre for the rest of the media loving him too much. I watched the SB with friends that had no alliance to either team and everyone was cheering against Manning because they're sick of hearing about him.

Great QB though, maybe the "smartest" ever? Because talent wise, he doesn't look very athletic, lol.

I had a rant on this in another thread. Give Manning a defense and he'll have at least 3 Super Bowls by now. He makes those receivers way better then they are. His RBs are absolute crap. His O-line is decent, at best, with the exception of Saturday.

I'd like to see that team play 1 game with all the starters in, except for Manning. They'd lose 7 - 41 or something in that range. I'm sure of it.

But like stated before without a good Defense Manning wouldn't have one SB. Even if I agree Manning's never had any support my issue would still be why can he always excel during the regular season with no help but come playoffs he's not the same guy. I'm still saying blame goes all the way around but I still don't get how Manning throws a bad pick in the last minutes with no pressure in his face and it's the D who is losing him SB's. It's the price you pay for being an offensive team. I said before the SB if the Saints only give up 20 points they'll win. Brees knows they won't win by shutting down other teams so it's on his shoulders to put up points and that's just not something Manning has handled some playoff time. Blame the defense all you want but if you only score 17 against the Saints most teams are going home a loser

The way that defense gets carved up through the air and on the ground when Bob Sanders is out is just ridiculous. Then we can still go to the O-line and the RBs. Not to say that Brady had amazing RBs in his career (letting Martin go was just idiotic), but I truly believe that that Colts O-line has never rivaled the O-line Brady had throughout, pretty much, his entire career.

Just look at the 07 season. You can have all the elite receivers you want, but if you won't get time, you can't constantly throw it deep. Manning hasn't had slouches either, but he's not getting the time Brady gets. Just look at games against the Texans, for instance. Mario Williams pretty much lives in that backfield.

Light is becoming old now, though. He's not the same franchist LT he once was. And it became awfully obvious against the Ravens. Brady got no time and, without Superman Welker, couldn't hit a short route to save his life. And didn't come close to reading a defense like Manning does.
