I still think they'll get a new CBA in place at the 11th hour. Still, I don't think Colledge would get much attention anyhow. If we can sign him for a million bucks a year, I say we do it. Let him compete with Spitz next season.

That 11th hour is coming soon. A new cap would need to be set before FA this year. Once that point hits it is to late. They could get the CBA done but the cap won't hit until next year.

With the emergency year in place for 2010, I think that the 11th hour might be before 2011 in the owners' minds.

11th hour... Have you been watching NFLN/NFL.com, Bozz?

I have read that many think this year will be for owners to lower the mean salary in prep for 2011 lockout. They think the Owners are not going to bend.

As of now they have just over a year to get a cap for 2011.

OT. Rock, that avatar is just wrong. Should get -1 for that sucker.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

as I read through these posts, I find it amusing, not 1 single posters suggests trading up in the draft.

So I'll dare 2be different.

Trade #74 Aaron Kampman to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for their #1 pick in the 2010 NFL Draft and select

Russell Okung, OT, Oklahoma St.

do you think Kamp and our 1st round pick would be enough to trade into the #3 overall spot?

You're in prime position for one of the two best DTs, a position of dire need, and you trade your pick for a 30 year old DE who's coming of a big injury? I don't see that happening.

I don't see Kampman going for a first rounder, at all.

If you want to trade up to get to Okung, you're most likely looking at trading with the Redskins or Chiefs. Redskins might go QB, the Chiefs pretty much have to go OT. Maybe you can package Kampman, our 1st, our 4th and our 1st next year and trade with the Redskins, but I find that a very steep price to pay.

I would lose all respect for any front office who was willing to trade a first rounder for a player coming off a knee injury.

But hey, we can dream. Stranger things have happened. 😉

I think it actually could be a possibility, depending on if Kamp signs a cheap contract. The Glazers are hurting for money in a big way. If there was ever an owner who didn't want to pay Top 3 money for a rookie, it's Glazer in Tampa. If Tampa can trade down later in the first round, pick up another 3rd rounder, and get a player like Kampman signed on the cheap, I think they would do it.

I have to think if the front office could get a first-rounder for Kampman, they'd pull that trigger in a heartbeat.
