For some reason, I think Lang fits better at RT.

Several others think this as well. I think it was an obvious mistake by the coaching staff, in not giving Lang a chance to compete at RT, when Barbre was an absolute disaster.

But yeah, more than a few people, whos opinions I respect, because of their football knowledge, have said Lang would fit better as a RT.

The intriguing thing about Giacomini is that he was on target for the starting RT job last TC but his injury flaring up again handed the job to Barbre.

The coaches must like him to keep him on the roster for 2 seasons as an inactive who can only play RT and is no use on Special Teams.

It reminds me of when Sitton won the RG job his rookie year, got injured and they didn't want to mess around with the line up so they didnt put him back in mid season.

I have a feeling Giacomini might come out of the traps flying in TC and at least match Tauscher. If so that frees the more versatile Lang up to play elsewhere.

Giacomini has the size, the mean streak and was a TE in college so should be atheltic enough.

The reason "they" say Lang fits better at RT is because his body type isn't in line with your prototypical LT. Nothing more than that. He has shown that he can play LT against good competition, though, so fitting the mold isn't worth much, in my opinion. I'm not seeing he'd be more natural at LT than RT. What I'm saying is that it don't mean shit that his body type doesn't fit the LT mold.

I think Mr. executive of the year candidate has his work cut out for him regarding the offensive line.

I really don't see how you don't keep Tauscher. I mean, the provides stability on his side of the line and he obviously wants to be in Green Bay.

I think even if they are hoping someone else wins the job, you have to keep him on this team, at least for another year. Now Clifton on the other hand, is a different story. I wouldn't blame him at all for taking one more "big" pay day. I'm sure he'll get an offer.

I guess I just don't see why everyone is so high on Spitz.

LT - Lang
LG - Mike Iupati - 1st round draft pick (6'5" 330 lbs)
C - Spitz
RG - Sitton
RT - Tauscher - Signs two year deal to finish career in GB

Wells backs up Center, if either guard gets injured, Spitz moves over.

Giacommini is backup RT, we draft project LT in 3rd or 4th round.

Clifton and College walk. I am sick to death of watching this two get beat on the pass rush, and also piss poor run blocking.

After the first two tackles go off the board, the rest are all projects. I wouldn't normally condone taking a guard in the first round, but that big boy Iupati makes our Oline a mauling force. Grant shouldn't be caught behind the line of scrimmage too often any more.

I see a couple scenarios with the offensive line next season.

1. If they keep Tauscher, drop Colledge/Clifton, and draft a blue-chipper.
LT- Bryan Bulaga
LG- T.J. Lang
C- Scott Wells
RG- Josh Sitton
RT- Mark Tauscher

2. Another possibility.
LT- Bryan Bulaga (rookie OT)
LG- Darren Colledge
C- Scott Wells
RG- Josh Sitton
RT- T.J. Lang

3. If they don't draft a blue-chip offensive lineman (would be dumb).
LT- T.J. Lang
LG- Jason Spitz
C- Scott Wells
RG- Josh Sitton
RT- Mark Tauscher.

I bolded the best option,in my opinion. I seriously believe the Packers NEED to draft a blue-chip offensive lineman, most preferably, who I have listed. In all three cases, I do not see Clifton in any. I wouldn't mind keeping Tauscher in the end I guess, especially if he has an entire off-season to prepare. The #1 scenario would be absolutely sick though!

Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you

Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (22-Jan) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
