I haven't ever much watched the show, but mom used to and that would be the only choice. I'm seeing Drew Carey on it now and it really seems awkward with him hosting. I think they made the wrong choice.

I also asked my wife--She is an expert, she watches the "Game show Network" all the time---

She hit the "why". He speaks in almost a monotone on the show, almost as if, "I signed a contract to do this STUPID friggin' show and now I gotta go through the motions of actually doing the damn thing..."

or some such.

I just got out of the shower and its still on. Hour long show? Anyhow, yes monotone is very accurate and he seems to rush his words as if he's paid per word spoken. It's really uncomfortable to watch, yet its better than any of the seven parades on the other channels and it seems something is missing from the audio. I'm waiting for someone to suddenly shout 'FROM NEW YORK ITS SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE!!' it just doesnt feel like a real game show to me.

Everytime anybody brings up The Price is Right, I think of that Adam Sandler/Bob Barker fight.

Speaking of which, Adam Sandler would do a better job on the price is right than Drew Carey.

I watched an interview in which he admitted he took the job primarily because it's a sham. He works a couple of days a month and has the rest of the time off. No challenge whatsoever. I'm sure he is bored -- he implied as much.

Two episodes are usually taped each day and there are normally three taping days per week.

Hmm. I could have sworn he said "month," but perhaps he said, "week." Either way, he gets a lot of time off.

Maybe he said he only works two weeks a month, which if taping occurs three days a week is about the same.

It was a fluff interview and I was in bed with the wiff at a hotel. I wasn't paying too close of attention. 😉
