The anti gun people don't give a damn about us being shot by criminals. All they want is to do is disarm us. Once again, more control over us if we are disarmed. Our founding fathers left England for many reasons, and that was one of them.

Yeah, that must be it. They don't care about people being shot by criminals, they only want their own government to have more control over them.

They go hand in hand with the democrats who want to turn America into a communist nation and dance on the declaration of independance and bill of rights. With everyone under 25 year old who's just having sex with every random person he/she meets on the street and has absolutely no respect for anyone over the age of 25.

Sometimes, I wonder how dark the world must look from your perspective.

You say that with much spite, I imagine.. But you couldn't be more freakishly right.. I've talked to MANY people who think the more power the government has, the better off we are as a nation. Power that includes taking gun ownership rights away from the citizen.

Also, I urge you to look at the Communist Manifesto and compare it to the ideologies of a lot of liberals (not all Democrats are liberal).

Just because you look at the world through rose colored glasses, doesn't mean it's the way REAL LIFE is. Unfortunately, as Formo said, sadly, your sarcastic post was more reality then i imagine you would expect it to be. To turn your back and pretend the world is all wonderful, and everyone is holding hands and chanting just isn't reality. If you watch the news, you'd see that what you wrote is more whats really happening then the wonderful world that you pretend is real in your mind.
FACT is, liberals want to take away our freedoms. They want communism. They want us dependant on the government to survive. They want us disarmed. Thats FACT.
It's also fact that sexual disease is rampant. And most of it is younger people. And very few young people i have met have respect for anyone over 25. They think us "old folks" don't know anything. Trust me....i have learned from years of paying attention to whats REALLY going on around me.
And I'll bet that 20 years from now, you will look back and say "Gee....those old guys at PackersHome were alot smarter then i thought they were."
Oh....and if they were worried about us law abiding citizens being shot by criminals, they would have stricter punishment for criminals that commit violent crimes. Instead of the "revolving door" prisons they have here. If you commit ONE violent crime, lock them up FOREVER. Most crimes committed with guns are by people that have been committing crimes since they were kids. Very rarely is a gun crime committed as a first crime. But they learn young that they can commit crimes, get a slap on the wrist, and they are back out on the streets to terrorize the GOOD people.
They have NO RESPECT for others, and they learn that they can do pretty much whatever they want.
How about punishing the BAD people instead of taking the gun away from ME? I have NEVER commited a crime with a gun, and i have been a gun owner for 36 years.
With the anti gun people, why don't they make it illegal for anyone to own or drive a car? I mean, heck, arn't there people killed by drunk drivers in this country every day? If they took away cars from everyone, no one would die from a drunk driver!!!!
Oh,....you don't want YOUR car taken away? TOO BAD!!!

All I'm going to say, is that if anybody told you 20 years ago that the government was going to tax cows more because they fart and contribute to global warming, and be able to regulate that small pond of water that forms on your land every year as if it were a lake, you'd think they were nuts. Things be changin'.

Me?

I'm in the business of "swaying politicians." I do not put up with their shit. I gave our state senator HELL in line when getting ready to vote (I was pissed about his vote for the smoking ban here in Pennsylvania)

These bastards are incompetent, arrogant and stupid here in PA. I am about to incur a full 30% increases in my electric bill, OVERNIGHT--literally--- thanks to "deregulation" and "consumer choice." (I couldn't make this shit up if I tried.)

My state senator is going to be held accountable for this. I am making it my business to start the process this very morning. I wrote him with my "immediate" complaint, and I friggin' DARE him to not respond to my letter.

My "first shot" across his bow, wrote and sent this am:

In the midst of an impending event of major significance to all of your constituents...the huge increases in electrical generation fees, our state government creates a website that is less than worthless when attempting to shop for a new supplier. Check it out for yourself. While it gives some useful information about rates that various suppliers are offering, it does not tell you by zip code, etc. if that supplier is available in our area. The Patriot News admonished the government for this failure in an editorial, mentioning that there were 7 suppliers in the Harrisburg area (for example)--and then proceeded to FAIL TO TELL US WHO THEY WERE! I am aware of Dominion Energy, ConEd, and Direct Energy (with a 100 cancellation fee, but best rate so far) Who are the others? How about doing your constituents a REAL SERVICE and placing what is known on your website? I talked to you in line when voting (I was the guy giving you hell about the smoking ban), and did vote for you. Thank you for reading my request

I will let everyone I know just exactly how well (or how poorly) my elected official handled my request. My "issue" is going to NAIL these Pavlovian dogs square in the wallet in about a month...THEN they will be "up in arms" about it...everyone.

These suppliers can mitigate the increase by up to about half of the amount, btw...at least what I have discovered so far. It might seem to be off-topic, but is really quite close to that which you speak of, Julie.

So your suggestion is to hate both parties equally? Already done, I'm more concerned about government in general rapidly expanding its role into the private sector. If that was directed at anyone in particular, that was kind of uncalled for. As far as I'm aware, everyone in this topic is over the age of 20 (a few a lot older ;)).

Would you be ranting about blindly following mommy and daddy if we were complaining about how Bush invaded Iraq for oil and wanted to know why nobody was willing to stop the health insurance companies from letting us all die while raking in massive profits? Or is it more motivated by disagreement with us? This can be a civil forum, let's keep it that way.

Oh, I don't underestimate your intelligence. Lets get that straigth, at first. I didn't mean to imply that you are stupid by any means.

My problem is that you put all these extremely propagandic things down as facts. Let me show an example.

Republicans want lower incomes to be taxed relatively more than high comes, when compared to democrats. That's a fact.

Republicans leave people with lower incomes with less to spent than democrats would. That's a fact.

Republicans try to tax people with lower incomes so much, that these people have to leave the country or live on the streets, but that's the Republicans want, because they want a country with only rich people.

That is not a fact, that's some kind of propagandic statement. Just like saying that Democrats are going for communism. What do you base that on? The Mao Zedong Christmas decoration? Or progressive taxing? Because there's a whole lot in between progressive taxing and communism.

And I've chosen not to get into this discussion about guns, again, so as little sense as the car comparison makes to me, I'm not going to go and discuss that anymore.

Btw, Finland, Element, Green Ninja, Go Pack Go, Dodd, Myself.... We're all under 25. I'm pretty sure that all of them, including myself, will tell you that we don't go around having sex with every random person we meet, knocking them all up and running away, because they can 'just have abortions, anyway'.

And maybe you did meet some disrepectful people under 25. I have, as well. Of course there are assholes out there, but there are enough of these 30 year old white trash guys who are a lot worse than most random kids you meet on the street. The people over here are just a very small sample, but again, how many of those 25 year olds and younger have been disrespectfull to anyone here?

Maybe i'm a little idealistic and optimistic about people around me, but I believe that a lot can be fixed. People aren't born 'bad', behavioral-wise they're born as little more than a tabula rasa. Of course you have the standard character flaws, things like stubborness etc., but it's all in the upbringing. Something you can fix a lot about, as well, later on, with a good psychologist.

That last part was some wild theorizing by me, btw.

This isn't a fact either, it's an assumption of motive based on observed actions. We're not basing this on taxation, I think Obama has strong socialist tenancies, but overall we're moving closer and closer to a socialist system. So, someone calls him a communist. Get over it, people overreact.

However, let's take a look at something that might help you realize why some people call him a communist, or the democrat party communistic. How many of these can be applied to our country? Out of those that can't, how many have come much closer to being a reality in the last 10 years? The last 1 year? How many of these would be closer matches with a strong democratic majority in the senate? How about 2/3 in both the house and senate?

First Plank: Abolition of property in land and the application of all rents of land to public purposes.

Second Plank: A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.

Third Plank: Abolition of all rights of inheritance.

Fourth Plank: Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels.

Fifth Plank: Centralization of credit in the hands of the State, by means of a national bank with State capital and an exclusive monopoly.

Sixth Plank: Centralization of the means of communications and transportation in the hands of the State.

Seventh Plank: Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the State, the bringing into cultivation of waste lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan.

Eighth Plank: Equal liability of all to labor. Establishment of industrial armies especially for agriculture.

Ninth Plank: Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries, gradual abolition of the distinction between town and country, by a more equitable distribution of population over the country.

Tenth Plank: Free education for all children in public schools. Abolition of children's factory labor in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production.

Guns are bad, trust me.

Not the guns, themselves, mind you...

The discussion about guns.

You have the anti-gun industry vs. the pro-gun industry.

It takes more than some wisdom to discern truth, from either side.

There is a far greater supply of guns in this country than wisdom.

Those are the facts, and beyond that, good luck convincing anyone on either side of the issues how they should stand on those issues.
