I think if there is no cap in 2010, very few teams(aside from the cowgirls and redskins) will go nuts and spend. I think most teams realize that there WILL be a cap again at some point, so going out and spending 200% of what they spent in 2009 is not an option.

But spend on who?

Up to 200 potential free agents will become restricted free agents and the teams will be able to keep hold of more top tier unrestricted free agents as they'll have 2 tags, a franchise tag AND a transition tag.

If there'sno cap the 2010 free agent pool will be the worst in years, maybe the worst ever.

If we play the 2010 season without the cap.. I think it might be wise to sit on the sidelines and watch.. why?

Because an uncapped NFL won't last long, and both sides know that the CBA model needs adjustments, but it is still the best solution out there in sports.

So you will get players that are restricted signing short term deals and a few clubs that will probably over spend in the environment.. leading to what I think could be a rather large FA crop in 2011.. when the cap is back in place.

And we won't be horribly over the cap. I can see Jerry Jones going crazy this one year, signing every single player who would make a slight improvement to a big contract. If there'll be a cap again in 2011, he'll be screwed, to say the least.

I agree, we should sit this one out, just resign our guys and maybe add a tackle. Don't go crazy this one year.

I mean if there is someone out there that will help and try to retain your guys.. but I don't think it will be wise to going on a Synder/Jones type spending spree..
