Before The Pack plays again(next mon), the picture could become even clearer...IMHO I have to root for Dallas and Philly this week, they win and Packers win, The Pack will have a 2 game lead on everyone else.

Reality is we are in the wild card race, we would still be tied with The Eagles(record wise), The Eaglles have the tiebreaker at this point, but that can change in the future weeks.

Packers sitting good right now, just take care of their own business and at the end of the reg. season let's see where they stand.

Stats:
Week............12..........13..........14.......15......16...............17
Dallas...(8-3)..W........vs nyg...vs sd...@no....@was......vs phi

Eagles..(7-4)...W........@atl.......@nyg....vs sf..vs den.....@dal

Packers(7-4)...W........vs bal....@chi....@pit....vs sea.....@ari

Giants..(6-5)....L.........@.dal.....vs phi..@was..vs car......@min

Atlanta.(6-5)....W........vs Phi....vs no...@ nyj..vs buf......@tb

LOL...yea it goes against every competive bone in my body, but I would really like to see The Packers clinch a WC spot before week 17, don't want someone resting their guys against a team that we would need to lose to get in. So I will grudgeingly hope they win this week.

Packers just need to win this week, whatever happens in those two games it is going to benefit them...if they beat The ravens.

Quick thoughts:

- The Eagles, Giants, and Falcons are the only teams were competing against for the WC. The 49'ers could make a late run but our head to head win gives us the nod over them, so they really don't matter.

- @Chicago, Seattle, and @Arizona. If we win 2 of those games and lose the rest I think we'll make the playoffs. Our conference record would be 8-4, which I'll wager heavily will be the best conference record among the wildcard hopefuls. It would then come down to records vs common opponents, which I havn't looked at yet.

-We want the #5 seed. Who would you guys rather play on the road in the first round, Arizona or Dallas? I'll take the Cardinals.

-Cheer for Dallas, as hard as it may be. If they beat both the Giants and Eagles to end the year, we could probably make the playoffs with 9 wins. It also gives Arizona little incentive to win when we play them as they'd be locked into the #4 seed.

10 wins and were in and probably the #5 seed. 9 wins with two of those against Chi, Seattle, or Arizona and we'll probably sneak in as the #6 seed.

Just checked out common opponents for the Packers against the other wildcard contenders. One thought I'm left with is that our game at Chicago is the most important game of the year. That win goes a long way in the tie breaker procedures.

Philly
Common Opponents: Cowboys, Bears, 49'ers, Bucs
Packers record: 3-1 with 1 game remaining @Chi
Eagles record: 2-1 with 2 games remaining, 49'ers, and @Dallas

Giants
Common Opponents: Cowboys, Bucs, Cardinals, Vikings
Packers record: 1-3 with 1 game remaining @Cardinals
Giants record: 2-1 with 2 games remaining, Dallas, and @Vikings

Falcons
Common Opponents: Cowboys, Bucs, Bears, 49er's
Packers record: 3-1 with 1 game remaining @Chi
Falcons record: 3-1 with 1 game remaining @Bucs

I'm actually hoping Ryan and Turner are alright. I'd much rather earn the WC spot instead of slide into it because the other team is so beaten up.

Heh. The irony that da Bears have a shot at being spoilers for us. Kind of worried it may be a trap game. Lovie Smith hates us and will do everything in his power to win that game.

Well, Ryan will miss the next game with a turf toe. Don't worry about them not being competitive though, Chris Redman showed his capable of leading his team into a victory.

How does everyone feel about the possibility of playing in Arizona two weeks in a row? If the matchup is set by week 17, do both teams play vanilla in week 17 to avoid tipping their hand for the playoff game the following week?

Was thinking about this, as well. That 'd be pretty funny.

Thing is, though, that we won't be able to sit back in that game.

They will.

I'm afraid that we're only 9-6 at that point, so we'll have to win to clinch a play-off spot. And if we are 10-5, 11-4, we'd most likely play them to get up a seed and not play them again the week after.

Although, if we'd somehow win every single game, it might just become the most boring game of the year with the 11-4 Packers, certain of a WC spot, playing 2nd stringers and the 10-5 Cardinals, who've clinched the NFC West, playing 2nd stringers. Or at least playing a little laid back.

I disagree that the Eagles, Falcons and Giants are the only teams we're competing for in the WC.

The Cowboys have a brutal schedule and could quite possibly lose the rest of their games to finish 8-8. Their easiest game is a bitter rivalry match against the Redskins who almost beat them a few weeks ago.

I'm rooting the Cowboys beat the Giants on Sunday because Dallas could win that and still end up 9-7.
