A. Negative:
I still worry some about what will happen when you don't have idiotic coaching on the other side. Barber gashes the Packers in the opening possession more than once, then disappears to, what, 7 carries in the game? And I don't think the OL problems are solved yet.

B. Positive:
This is the team I was hoping for all year. Aggressive, impose-your-will-on-the-other-team football. The kind that plays from strength rather than tries to finesse and hide its weakness. The kind that, in the long run, won't depend on mistakes by the other side or its coaching for its victory.

Good points. This game came down to Woodson being dominant, and Wade Phillips remaining a boob.

I'll try not to repeat what everyone else has said (much)...

Positives:
- Defensive line - Jolly and Jenkins were very disruptive, and Raji did well in his limited snaps. An outstanding performance against a very good, very big Cowboys line (although, I'm sure the injuries to it didn't hurt...)
- Collins had a good game.
- Nice to see Barnett finally getting to the QB (although I still hate that stupid Samurai celebration).
- Big, timely win. We really needed the confidence boost. We could (should) be 7-4 heading into December.
- Woodson and Matthews. Wow. Woodson will be DPOW, and Matthews has at least got to be in the running for DROY.
- Both rookies (Lang and Jones) had a good game.
- Nice to see the blitz make a comeback. This was the defense we were all so fired up about during the preseason. Seems like Capers opened up the playbook more with Kampy out.

Negatives:
- Very slow start for the offense. Given our defensive play, this game should have been a blowout.
- Two more bad challenges by McCarthy. What was he looking at?
- Even though it worked in our favor, that "can't challenge a fumble recovery" thing is nonsense and it needs to be done away with.
- Running the ball on 2nd and long.
- Running the ball on 3rd and long!

speaking of no injuries..which is very awesome, every time i see Rodgers go down i keep thinking "fuck. he's going to break soon."

i'm really curious to find out how he's really doing.

Luckily yesterday, I think Romo took a lot more punishment than Rodgers. Rodgers' sacks weren't as hard. A few of Romo's hits looked brutal.

The most painful part of yesterday for Rodgers I think was the time when he ran threw people, which was cool because it showed his athleticism. Rodgers is tough. :thumbright:

Positives:

-Rodgers on third downs. The guy is awesome on third downs. On that one drive that resulted in a Rodgers td, he completed a 3rd and 13 and a 3rd and 11 back to back i believe.
-Dominated the time of possession.
-The whole defense

Negatives:

-The offense seems to struggle in the first half all the time.
-Still too many sacks and penalties

Packers definitely need to work on the stupid penalties that we had. I liked the way Packers controlled the flow of the game. I will be honest but this is how I want to see the Packers game where they are good all around and specially on the D like last night. I was impressed and our offensive attack needs to chisle up little more. Good game though, satisfied.

Positives:

-The most physical football game the Packers have played in several years IMO and we came out on top. All the stuff that was said about our team this week was true. They kept the first half close and came out amped up in the 2nd half.
-Josh Sitton is BY FAR playing the best football on the offensive line. He has been the entire year and yesterday was no different. Budding star on our hands, and hopefully he doesn't see the Colledge drop-off.
-Cullen Jenkins played out of his mind yet again. The guy is one of the best DE's in the game. Holds up at the POA and gets a lot of penetration. Plays his tail off from the snap to the whistle...from the first snap to the last.
-Charles Woodson is in fact God.
-Our ILBs actually looked good blitzing for once!!!
-Capers' most aggressive game plan this season and I can't help but think it had something to do with Brad Jones' coverage ability, allowing them to attack more.
-Possibly Rodgers' best game this year. MUCH quicker decision making and very few poor decisions. A couple WOW throws. The line overall didn't hold up too well yesterday, but we did face one of the best pass rushes in the NFL.
-Grant is FINALLY playing well. He isn't hitting the HRs like he did his first year, but everything else is back.

Negatives
-Not a sexy first half.
-We only won by 10 with arguably the best complete half (2nd) of football we've played in years.

Positives

- Most enjoyable game I've ever seen.
- Swarming defense. The kind I wanted to see when we hired Capers.
- Donald Driver still looked as sharp as ever.
- Swarming defense. The kind I wanted to see when we hired Capers.
- Charles Woodson, Cullen Jenkins, Clay Matthews. All potential candidates for DPOTW, if you ask me.
- Swarming defense. The kind I wanted to see when we hired Capers.
- Brad Jones filled in quite nicely. No amazing stats, but 7 tackles and some pressure nontheless.
- Swarming defense. The kind I wanted to see when we hired Capers.
- Aaron Rodgers had a good game and gets a win credited to him.
- A lot of short throws. Might not've worked perfectly right now, but this is the way you get over a field.

Negatives

- The offense. A lot had to do with pressure, but we couldn't even get screens down normally.
- O-line as a unit. Looked quite bad once again.
- The execution on those short throws.
- Seams. We gave up some plays, which luckely didn't hurt us. Something I'll gladly give up if we keep playing this kind of defense, though.
- It took for Kampman to be out before becoming more aggressive.

i feel like i saw lady luck.

A LOT.

but our defense, whoo boy. where did they disappear after preseason and who the hell woke them up? has Capers really been waiting this long to bring the fucking heat?

on the flip-side, god our offense looked impotent for most of that game. what is the deal? how is it possible that we just can't get open anymore?

"TwinkieGorilla" wrote:

its not possible. i was talking about this during the game yesterday. The first half it was rodgers holding on to the ball too long again. there is absolutely no way our stacked receiving corps can't get open damn near every play. it has to be rodgers vision, not anticipating the brief openings there are, or being too afraid to take a chance.
