So I guess I finally figured out why Favre wanted to go to the Vikings. 11-0, and obviously I don't know how many TD's the defense scored in those games but thats 31 points a game the team is scoring.

If things continue the way they have (and there is no guarantee of that, he's 40), the Vikings only away game in the playoffs would be the Saints, who are also indoors. Looks like Favre and the Vikings are prime for a SB run, but then again, they are being coached by Childress and they ARE the Vikings, so maybe they will just collapse and go 0-8 for the rest of the season and finish 7-9.

The Drill: Favre's indoor domination

Posted: Nov. 10, 2009

There was once a time when playing under a roof for Brett Favre was like kryptonite to Superman. During his 16 seasons with the Packers, Favre compiled a .467 winning percentage (21-24) when playing indoors, compared with a .668 winning percentage (139-69) when playing outdoors. Since his last loss indoors on Oct. 23, 2005, however, Favre has won his last 11 games. That 11-0 mark includes a 5-0 record at the Metrodome, where Favre won two games with the Packers and three with the Vikings.

Here's a look at Favre's last 11 games played under a roof:

Date Team Opp Venue Result
10-18-09 Vikings Ravens Metrodome Win, 33-31
10-11-09 Vikings Rams Edward Jones Dome Win, 38-10
10-5-09 Vikings Packers Metrodome Win, 30-23
9-27-09 Vikings 49ers Metrodome Win, 27-24
9-20-09 Vikings Lions Ford Field Win, 34-20
12-16-07 Packers Rams Edward Jones Dome Win, 33-14
11-22-07 Packers Lions Ford Field Win, 37-26
10-30-07 Packers Vikings Metrodome Win, 23-16
11-12-06 Packers Vikings Metrodome Win, 23-17
10-24-06 Packers Lions Ford Field Win, 31-24
11-13-05 Packers Falcons Georgia Dome Win, 33-25

Note: Favre did not play any games indoors in 2008 as a member of the Jets.

The Saints' home field advantage is the best in football IMO and it would be a tough task for the Vikings to win in New Orleans. I think home field advantage means more to the Vikings than the Saints. I could see New Orleans winning in Minnesota, but I have a hard time believing anyone can go to New Orleans in the playoffs and win. Maybe a team like Atlanta who is familiar with the surroundings. Saints' fans are the most underrated in football. They've rallied behind their team since Katrina. It's actually one of the more inspiring stories in the NFL.

I guess my point is don't count your chickens before they hatch.

The Saints have a great home field advantage, but a lesser Vikings team beat the Saints in the SuperDome last year. Brees didn't look to hot, and a couple of flukey punts landed and Bush's hands kept the game close.

But, as far as this year.. I don't see the Vikings beating the Saints. At least, not at this point.

I don't know. Saints look very beatable. Dolphins had them on the ropes. So did the panthers last week. The Falcons played them close but Ryan threw 3 picks and didn't have the experience to play with Brees. The saints are not an unbeatable powerhouse if they play against a good team. Their win vs the Giants looked really impressive but everyone is beating the Giants these days. Jury is still out on N.O.

A year ago, Carolina was an NFC powerhouse.

The Saints are a new team this year. They're clearly for real as starting 8-0 is no small task. Most importantly, their fans are electric inside the superdome. I think the Vikings can beat New Orleans in Minnesota, but in New Orleans, the Saints have some swagger to them. I see Minnesota's need for home field advantage more important than New Orleans' right now.

They do look beatable.. But those two close games against Carolina and Atlanta were divisional games. It's hard to count those games' stats because of that. Yes, technically, you have to count those stats.. I like to draw a parallel to the Vikings vs. Lions.. No matter how good/bad one team is over the other, they are almost always close games.

I agree, jury is still out.

Yeah.. what happened to Carolina?

Like I said before, I'm just glad the Vikings don't have to play NO this year. At least, not until the playoffs (most likely an NFC title game). You know if that happened, both teams would be leaving everything on the field, which would make it a great game to watch as fans. And probably give me a heart attack. lol
