I bet there are some available that can kick to the 20 and have a higher than 79% FG percentage.

That can kick to the 20, are you serious? You are ripping Crosby because he doesn't just kick touchbacks into the wind but you are cool with someone else just kicking it to the 20?

Never seen someone whine so much about kicking when its not even in our top five problems for the team. Incredibly petty if you ask me.

We have ripped apart those other 5 areas over the first half of the season. Don't see what is wrong with trying to widen the spectrum of conversation.

But it you prefer we can stick with Brett/TT bitching.

As for the kicking to the 20. I have said multiple times, that I am OK with giving up a little accuracy or kick off length. But I don't want to give up both. In the Viking game, the coaches decided to kick short. Why is that. The only explanation is that the did not have the confidence that Crosby could keep the ball deep enough.

I don't have the stats on Mason this year for touchbacks, but if you look over his first 2 years, I think we have a great kickoff guy.
"His 17 touchbacks in 2008 were the most by a Packers kicker since 1972 (Chester Marcol, 28). His 31 touchbacks the last two years rank seventh in the league over that span"

The only explanation to you maybe. It makes much more sense that they thought by kicking the ball high or squibbing it they had a better shot at making the tackle before he busted a 40+ yarder.

Well then I am disappointed. Kick the ball deep enough and they start at the 20. Yet our coaches think squibs and pooches were a better option than telling Crosby to kick deep.

Hell Longwell, was able to get it to the goal line, Crosby should have been able to make the stands with his leg. Since all I have ever seen people say about Longwell is that he was great a FG just couldn't kick off.

The pooch/squib gameplan makes a lot more sense than your theory of they coaches don't think Crosby can kickoff deep. 1 week after he put 3 kickoffs into the endzone vs Cribbs they aren't just for no reason thinking "Man that Crosby can't get the ball into the endzone to save his life"

LONGWELL IS LONG GONE, GET THE TRUCK OVER IT! You even mentioned Ted and Brett. WoW ... MOVE ON!

What's next, compare Wahle to Colledge? Rivera to Sitton? Move the frick on already.

You don't KNOW that he can't kick it deep. Just like I don't KNOW he was instructed to kick it high for his coverage team to get under it.

He didn't do it this past game and I feel its with good reason.

I could be wrong, but I remember him kicking them into the end zone pretty consistently.

I'm really starting to think you're just bitching about this for the sake of having something to bitch about. And now I'm feeling dumb for partaking into this continuation because you hve provided NOTHING to support your theory. Nothing but more BS crap about a player we once had and who CHOSE to leave for team with better climate OR a dome.

If you want to be petty and nitpicking at something that's not nearly worth five pages of debating... by all means. Go ahead. A wall has more understanding and reasoning ability than you've shown ME in this thread.

I guess if you are 100% happy with the kicking game, then that is fine. I am not. There is room for improvement, and since there is, there should be room for discussion.

Excuse me for trying to talk about something out of the ordinary. We can go back to the Oline, Running game, pass rush and everything else we have beat to death.

Should we start Tauscher or Barbre. Wait there is a thread about that already, with no action lately. How is McCarthy as a coach, Oh, there are about a hundred threads about that also getting no action.

beast (8-Aug) : It's a new rule, so it's not clear, but my understanding was that they could be IR'd at any time
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : *had to be IRed at 53
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : beast, I thought the designate return from IR players had to be IR at cutdowns to 53, not before
beast (8-Aug) : It's a brand new rule, either last season or this season, prior, all pre-season IRs were done for the season
beast (8-Aug) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.
beast (8-Aug) : I think the NFL recently changed the IR rules, so maybe the season might not be over for OL Glover.
Zero2Cool (8-Aug) : Packers star Howton, first NFLPA prez, dies at 95 😔
dfosterf (8-Aug) : Apparently it is too complicated for several to follow your simple instructions, but I digress

Zero2Cool (7-Aug) : Well, not crazy, it makes sense. Crazy I didn't notice/find it earlier
Zero2Cool (7-Aug) : it's crazy how one stored procedure to get data bogged everything down for speed here

wpr (7-Aug) : seems faster. yay
dfosterf (7-Aug) : Wife of reason posted on the in/out thread on fleaflicker that both she and vor are in

Zero2Cool (7-Aug) : Sure does feel like site is more snappy
Zero2Cool (6-Aug) : I thought that was the Lions OL
Mucky Tundra (6-Aug) : Travis Glover placed on IR; seasons over for him
Zero2Cool (6-Aug) : found bad sql in database, maybe site faster now?
dfosterf (5-Aug) : I'm going to call that a good move.
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : Packers sign CB Corey Ballentine
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : I'm not sure how to kill the draft order just yet so it's not so confusing.
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : *to be able
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : and because it's not a dynasty league (which makes a lot more sense to be ability to trade picks)
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Oh I know; I was just exploring and it blew my mind that you could trade picks because of the whole reordering thing
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Zero, I think I preferred my offer: your 1st for my 15th rounder
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : Keep in mind, we do a draft reorder once all members locked in
