LOL Crosby has been near the bottom of the league the last year and a half in FG accuracy, and consistently misses clutch kicks, but I "have it out for him"

13 of 14 with 49 or shorter.
1 of 4 with 50 or more.

More than a dozen of those ahead of him have not even attempted a 50 or more FG.

Your bias is proven.

Really?

Last year he was only 10/13 from 30-39 yds. Ranked 29th.

In 2007 he was only 9/14 from 40-49 yds. Ranked 26th.

Try again.

I've looked at the same stats as you have. I don't need to try again. It's already proven.

That our kicking game is a problem? I agree.

I'm surprised you don't like mm. You're as pigheaded as he is. I really expected more intelligence from you. Especially when you provide the stat that counters your own bias statement.

If we're not kicking from 33 and beyond, Crosby is a accurate kicker. As your stat proves. What's so hard to understand? 3 of his 4 misses came from 50+ and with your stat more than a dozen of those who have a higher percentage than he does, haven't even tried one.

Incredible. How many different ways can I explain this to you? I'll agree one of four is not good and it should be at least 2 of 4. But missing one of out of 14 under 49 is not something to bitch about.

You always do this when someone proves you wrong. You always pull the "Thanks for proving my point", or "you provide the stat that counters your own bias statement." bullshit.

Crosby's accuracy is OK, IF, and that right now is a big if, he can get us field position. That is what this thread was about.

We can sacrifice accuracy for field position, we cannot sacrifice both.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

Okay so we're going back in time now saying his '07 stats are a problem this year? Yeah, I'm something else.

Let's throw more stats comparing someone who kicked more FG's to those who kicked half the amount but made a higher percentage. That's an accurate measure.

See how you pick one range, then the next year pick another range? I disagree with that.

'07
30-39 10 of 11 made
40-49 9 of 14 made

'08
30-39 10 of 13 made
40-49 5 of 6 made

'09
30-39 5 of 5 made
40-49 3 of 4 made

I'm just not naive enough to fall for the where the kicker is ranked in the NFL business as a reason a kicker is good or bad. I'm just not that stupid. Give it time, the more I read your posts, it's getting there.

Pit a kicker versus other kicks who've kicked in the same range and somewhat near in the same attempts. That's a more accurate comparison. Well, in my uneducated opinion anyhow.

If that is all coaching and Crosby is able to kick it deep all the time and he is just doing as told, then I will apologize when that is proven. Right now all I have to go on is what I see. They are having him kick short IMO for a reason. More than likely, he can't do it consistently.

Here's the way I look at it -

Crosby hasn't missed a kick short yet. All those 50-56 yard attempts looked like they had the distance to go 60. He just missed wide left or right.

Remember that 69 yard free kick bomb in the cold and into a slight wind he missed by maybe 6 inches to end the first half in the last game of the season last year?

So I think he's got the leg. He's always had a little trouble with accuracy. I vaguely remember a kickoff or two going out of bounds back when he was getting touchbacks. So my guess is the coaches want him to pop it up and aim a little bit so that doesn't happen and so the special teams have a little more time and know where to run.

LOL we lose to the Vikings and people want to blame the kicker now? Soon we're going to be blaming the cheerleaders for distracting the players.
