The Vikings are better period.
Admit it and accept it and then I think people can start thinking more clear. You can't deny it.
Brett Favre owns Dom Capers. It's clear Capers can't figure him out. Watch the 96 NFC Title game and even the 06 game against Miami if you remember, Favre just beats the blitzburgh system. He dominates it because he's so good at moving in the pocket without moving that much. Just a little shuffle here and he's got a lane. He's got the best pocket presence of maybe any QB in to ever play the game.
Great game by Favre. Again, give credit when it's due. He's great and maybe good (sarcasm). This game meant a lot to him and that clearly showed. Favre is my MVP after eight weeks and of course he's an outstanding player.
On the Packers side
Mark Tauscher needs to get in there soon. I thought Allen Barbre looked terrible again. He was thrown around quite easily by Ray Edwards who is a solid, but not a great pass rusher.
10 rushes by Grant, but that had to do with falling behind by 21 points like the Packers did. Roders played well in the second half. It's amazing that the Packers replaced Favre as well as they did with Rodgers. To bad other phases of the team isn't on the same level as Aaron Rodgers.
He did hold the ball too long on a few plays in the first half, but the playcalling was unnecessary on them as well. The 3rd and one sack Troy Aikman got on Rodgers about is an example of that. McCarthy thought to himself all week that I called draws on 3rd and one before so maybe I'll fool them here.
I hate shotgun formation on 3rd and one.
Defensively, Green Bay is an unknown. I think they're getting better, but I also think Capers can't figure out Favre. As I said before, Favre owns Capers. 3rd and 17 and he drops everyone and rushed three. Are you kidding me?
Johnny Jolly made what could've been the worst mistake I've ever seen. Not necessary at all and know matter what was said. Game changing penalty.
McCarthy's gameplan was not good offensively, but he adjusted well in the second half and they did some things. The Packers were down 24-3 when they got the ball for the first time in the 2nd half. They started to get things going.
The defense did not.
I know people want to see someone pay for Favre beating GB in purple, but the fact remains, this is just one game. The division is now done and GB will now play for a wild-card, but it's not without question the Packers can get there. I think out of all the teams competing for a wild card in the NFC, Green Bay has the best QB.
They should get by Tampa next week and get to 5-3. That Dallas game is going to be big too. That could decide whether or not they sneak into the playoffs.
