b. A nanny state is one that we ask to act like a nanny. Over-protective. One we hire to ensure we all wipe our ass correctly and go to bed on time. It's a big bad world out there and we gotta protect everyone from the big bad wolves and the evil stepmothers and the dark side of the force.
