I would love a classic (One for the ages game.) ending with a Packers last second win on an 87 yard drive.
However... As much as I want that classic game my daughter can tell my Grandchildren about it. My gut says "Major Let Down."
FATE is the reason for this feeling that lingers in me.
There are a great deal of strange and wonderful powers in the Universe. Luck is not one of them.
I do not believe in LUCK. When it comes to all of the strange and wonderful things in the universe, Luck is a fake, Luck Sucks. They guy who makes a five bank corner shot in a game of 8 ball had to be good enough to get it there. The lottery winner had to buy a ticket. The feller who was pulled out of a frozen lake can thank the fact he was hollering, Luck sucks.
Fate however... He is real. He is a conniving little bastard that is out there, and Fate has a personality of his own. Fate is smart, picks his moments, he has a sense of humor, and has the patience of God himself.
Let's see.. Pee Wee Hermon getting caught spanking the monkey... That was FATE. Funny Guy Fate is, I thank him for that. Made me laugh.
The agoraphobic guy who spent his whole life locked up in his apartment, cut his hand so bad he had to call 911 and was killed in an ambulance crash on the way to the hospital... Yep that was Fate. Fate waited 30 odd years to pull of that one.
Fate is also a NFL fan... Oh, and he has had this little plan in motion since February 10th 1992.
Brett goes down this Sunday. Fate has it all planned. Not a bad injury, but an injury that will end his consecutive start streak. Brett goes down and the game is no longer a question. Packers win big.
Fate is also a little narcissistic... He likes to hear people talk about him, confirm his existence. He needs attention.
That is why Fate has it that Rodgers will win his first Super Bowl in the same NFL year that his 17 year Brett Favre plan comes to fruition.
Just so Fate can listen to people recognize him.. So he can listen to people on ESPN say... "Yep... It was FATE."
