Did we notice Lang? He was the talk of the gameday chat

besides cm3, driver, and the refs sucktitude.

Yeah, the refs are throwing flags based on the Packers' "reputation." It's Ahmad Carrollitis.

I was impressed with Lang yesterday. Certainly are some things to correct, but it was only his first full game and as he gains more experience he should get better.

One thing Lang really provides which Clifton doesn't is run blocking. I saw the Packers run to the left yesterday quite a bit and it forced the Browns to play the run on both the left and the right side which opened up holes for Grant. Usually with Clifton in there we are little to no threat running left, because he isn't a good run blocker and teams can overload the right side making it harder to run the football.

I think we have to start Lang to win the game sunday. He provides much better run blocking than Clifton, and Clifton isn't healthy. As far as pass protection, it doesn't matter who you start IMO because both are going to take their lumps against Allen. I'd rather it be Lang, because he at least provides some benefit in the run game. Also he isn't a penalty machine. I think if we start Clifton we lose. Thats how important it is IMO.

Paid special attention to Lang during yesterday's game, and must say I came away rather impressed. Showed good foot and hand work, maintained blocks, showed physicality and tenacity....good showing.

Certainly, too early to tell much, bu a good first game. Like a previous poster, I think his more natural positin may be RT, but let him continue at LT, give Clifton some rest to get healthy, open uop the position to competition once Clifton is healthy, and see what shakes out.

Still need to draft a tackle or two next year.

Yes.. and not a project type late round tackle.. we need to take one in the first two to three rounds.. Someone that can step in early in his career and provide a nice 4 to 7 year window of performance..

AMEN to THAT!

I'm very pleased with Lang's performance. I also agree that he should get the start against the Queens too.

Keep Lang in. Didn't see much that I didn't like. One whiff on a run block away from the play, but nothing serious.

I say Lang start, Clifton backup, and if need be, have one or the other report eligible and have two LT against Allen.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

I think the defenders have to pull up if they have a step to the QB. If it's less than a step, you don't have to pull up.
But yeah, they'll protect the big names far more than the no names.

O yeah totally... there is a picture of Allen pushing Rodgers head down to his knee after Rodgers threw the ball (and Colledge (the LT) looking down field.) so after Rodgers threw it...

But Brady got a roughing the passer called when a defender wrapped his arm around Brady (as Brady threw it).

beast (30-Jan) : College Coaches wouldn't want that publicly, as it would hurt recruiting and they might not get the job.
beast (30-Jan) : I thought they were supposed to publicly announce them, at least the NFL ones. Hafley was from college, so I believe different rules.
Mucky Tundra (30-Jan) : Who knows who they're interviewing? I mean, nobody knew about Hafley and then out of nowhere he was hired

Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
