in sacks allowed by one player ...

every week 1 player tops the list when they go against GB. Now granted a few weeks they are tied with other teams; but no other team has a opposing player that is first or tied every week.

(did the above make sense)?

notice who is the sack master of this week? none other then J peterson of the lions with 2.5 (more then any other person).

And I had predicted that this would be the first game of the season in which the Packers did not allow a defensive player to have a multiple-sack game. Shame on me. What's really sad is that if they had actually attempted to block Peterson, he would not have had those sacks.

Every week we make some less-than-premium player look like an All Star. I read that the Lions were so depleted on their defensive line that they were lining up backup offensive linemen? Is this true?

Maybe it's time to line B.J. Raji next to Lang.

I think they had an o-lineman in a goalline defense that they ran.

Yeah that's a TERRIBLE list of players right there. 3 out of those 5 are pretty damn good at their job.

Who said anything about terrible players? Those weren't the only players on their teams who notched sacks against the Packers anyway.

You're making it sound like the Packers gave up sacks to a bunch of nobodies. My point is, yes, we made them look better than they are, but it's not as if the guys who tallied the most sacks against us in each game are slouches. I think something like 14 out of 25 sacks were tallied up by said players.

Add in that everyone knows we're going to pass which is a defensive coordinators DREAM and our poor OL ... it's going to be a sack happy day against us.

The running game needs to get going. They need to run MORE. Running helps the OL. It makes defenses play the run and the more carries you give Grant the better he does.

I do think we need to run more but it helps to get the runs up if they are actually getting anything out of it. A lot of the Lions game we never got more than 2 or 3 yards and I think you just need more than that every once in a while if you are going to try and commit to it. I don't really have much of a problem with the play selection yesterday. The Vikings game is a good example of when we need to run more because we were actually effective with it that game.

I'm not disagreeing that these are quality pass rushers, I just thought these stats I compiled might shed some light on how much better we make people look...

YTD Sacks / Games Played
Adewale Ogunleye: 4.5 / 5
Antwan Odom: 8 / 6
Leonord Little: 4 / 6
Jared Allen: 7.5 / 6
Julian Peterson: 3.5 / 6

Average sacks per game / Sacks against Packers / Season record, sacks in a single game
Adewale Ogunleye: 0.9 / 2 / 2.5 (vs DET)
Antwan Odom: 1.333 / 5 / 5 (vs GB, next best 2 vs Denver)
Leonord Little: 0.666 / 2 / 2(vs GB, next best 1 vs 2 opponents)
Jared Allen: 1.25 / 4.5 / 4.5 (vs GB, next best 1 vs 3 opponents)
Julian Peterson: 0.583 / 2.5 / 2.5 (vs GB, next best 1 vs PIT)

And finally, Sacks against packers minus average sacks/game
Adewale Ogunleye: 1.1
Antwan Odom: 3.666
Leonord Little: 1.333
Jared Allen: 3.25
Julian Peterson: 1.917

Mucky Tundra (7h) : They really need to to get rid of the auto first down for illegal contact
Martha Careful (8h) : watching the Vikings and Lions it's understandable why they swept the Packers. So much better product
Mucky Tundra (8h) : Even when GB got pressure he was throwing darts; vs no pressure on that last pass he just air mails an open guy

dfosterf (2-Jan) : Hats off to the Beast
dfosterf (2-Jan) : I'm at 71.76% in pick 'em. 2nd place. Beast is at a flat 75% 9 games ahead. That 75% has got to be unprecedented this late in the season
beast (2-Jan) : I don't care deeply, just want some good entertaining games
Zero2Cool (2-Jan) : BTW, not serious.
Zero2Cool (2-Jan) : You don't care about it either!!!!

beast (2-Jan) : I expect Georgia will change that tomorrow, but we'll have to wait and see. If they do, then only Big 10 and SEC are left.
