The hit that got Wesley ejected from the game. It's quite bad and totally unnecessary.

What a dumbass. This will get him suspended a few games I believe. And he acted like he didn't do anything wrong? Wow. Douche.

Complete and utter cheap shot, left his feet, went high to the head, he deserves a massive fine for that.

I was just thinking the other day about how I've never seen or heard about fullscale brawls between teams like you see in baseball. You can have the nastiest of hits and players shoving and pushing eachother, but I haven't seen anything outright scary... Am I just uninformed, or have there been some serious melees?

Props to the refs here, and props to both teams for showing some restraint... Here's to Smith's health.

As for Wesley, he needs quite a few weeks to sit on his ass and be humbled.

I agree with you 100%!
I hope the NFL comes down HARD on this jerk. He could have paralized the guy with that cheap shot.

Not as bad a hit as I was thinking. He had no reason to leave his feet and go high though. You get a stronger impact when you through someone. Why would you leave your feet?

Out for the rest of the season would be good with me. It is bad plays like this that get the rules put in place that take good play away elsewhere.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

I checked out a Panthers forum earlier, and while most of the members there agreed that it was a cheap shop, there were actually several that said it was a "clean hit" Wow. Really?

Ok, I understand this was a cheap shot but the guy was a clean player, 8-year veteran, and a special teams standout. He said it was poor timing, which is an understatement--his time was absolutely terrible. That and the fact that he put his shoulder to the head make it a cheap shot. Ultimately though, I feel like he's getting a lot more shit than he deserves. This is the NFL, things like this happen it's not like they're playing patty cake out there.

I mean, if the guy hadn't been unconscious and got up we'd be talking fines and maybe a suspension but people are in uproar just because the guy got hurt. Ray Lewis absolutely jacked Ochocinco last week and only got a fine, if he had actually hurt Ochocinco should he have been fined more? I'm just saying that people get hurt in the NFL, it's the name of the game and if you expect anything less you shouldn't be playing. There shouldn't be a double standard for punishment if you actually inflict injury
(unless it was deemed that it was on purpose).

So I agree with most you saying it was a cheap shot and uncalled for, he deserves a hefty fine but the guy doesn't deserve to lose his job.

EDIT: I just watched it again. Ouch. I really don't know about it anymore that's pretty bad.

Good. I'm glad you threw this in at the end. Up until the edit, combined with your analysis of the Vikings/Ravens game, I was starting to wonder what you were smoking LOL.
