Ok, I understand this was a cheap shot but the guy was a clean player, 8-year veteran, and a special teams standout. He said it was poor timing, which is an understatement--his time was absolutely terrible. That and the fact that he put his shoulder to the head make it a cheap shot. Ultimately though, I feel like he's getting a lot more shit than he deserves. This is the NFL, things like this happen it's not like they're playing patty cake out there.
I mean, if the guy hadn't been unconscious and got up we'd be talking fines and maybe a suspension but people are in uproar just because the guy got hurt. Ray Lewis absolutely jacked Ochocinco last week and only got a fine, if he had actually hurt Ochocinco should he have been fined more? I'm just saying that people get hurt in the NFL, it's the name of the game and if you expect anything less you shouldn't be playing. There shouldn't be a double standard for punishment if you actually inflict injury
(unless it was deemed that it was on purpose).
So I agree with most you saying it was a cheap shot and uncalled for, he deserves a hefty fine but the guy doesn't deserve to lose his job.
EDIT: I just watched it again. Ouch. I really don't know about it anymore that's pretty bad.
