This would be a good call and wouldn't be really throwing Lang into the fire if you ask me. Throwing him in the fire was last week when he went against one of the best defensive ends (tired) a week ago. I think he did will and can only grow from here.

I see this as a good experience for Lang since it is the Detroit Lions d-line and not the Vikings or Bears.

Thank God. Were actually playing the backup to the LT position instead of shifting the whole Oline. Oh an I also thought Lang looked decent in the MN game.

If Clifton, Spitz n Colledge are all retained this offseason, Lang could be groomed to be the ideal 6th Offensive Lineman. He has the ability to be a swing OT and swing OG, which is great to have. Add in Dietrich-Smith who has the ability to play both C and RG, and we have 2 guys who are extremely versatile. I have a vision for this Offensive Line and believe it or not, we're not far away at all from having a pretty damn good line, depth included.

experience. that's what barbre needs. that's what it took to make colledge and spitz go from pretty darn bad to pretty darn good. that's what it will take barbre too. and probably Lang as well.

ugh. I felt this way after 2005 season when we started Spitz, Colledge, Wells and Moll for most of the year with substantial success. They just never developed and seem to be playing at the same level now as they did then.

I don't know whether it is a coaching issue or a lack talent, but our guys just haven't built on their experience.

Maybe we should bring back Wahle, Rivera, and Flanagan as position coaches to teach these schmucks how to play???

if you think colledge (playing guard) and spitz are playing at basically the same level as they were in 2005, you're either not watching them or you can't tell the difference between good line play and bad line play.

I'll admit, I don't know good or bad OL too well. But, I do feel strongly that having your C play C, and G's playing G and T's playing T is the best recipe for success on the OL. Which, is why I like hearing that Colledge will be staying at LG. 🙂

I agree i wanna see this kid at LT and see what the O-Line can do now that the shuffling stops, kind of.....hopefully colledge can rebound at his more "natural" position and so on

well this week is a test for the whole OLine and not just for Lang....now that Lang is in at LT there should be no excuses really. I know Barbe is facing the learning curve of a brick wall but if they are in the positions they are natural to. Then it can only be better then the shifting and changing.

I think its a good move this week. Get back to a sense of familarity and hopefully give some new blood some strips. I hope that we can have some OLine highlights this week. With rodgers having a beut of a pocket to throw out of!
