It's a subtype of the swine flu, but usually it's just called the swine flu as well.

Except for in the Netherlands. It was called swin flu here as well, but for some reason, they changed it to Mexican flu.

They said she may have had a mild case of the H1N1 thingy, but nothing to be worried about even if she did. They said she'll have a cough for about a week or two and should be fine. But she puked again today after eating breakfast. She's now missing her third day of school in three years. She had a nice streak going until Tuesday. :(

She'll be fine though.

Geez.....so the "cure" is as bad as the illness?
I got a flu shot (i think it was just the regular one) and my shoulder was sore for several days. But i didn't get sick from it.
Kids are much more supceptable to getting sick from vaccines.

Damn, that sucks. Plenty of water and drink electrolytes (which often come in not-quite-so-bad-tasting-powder which you mix with water) if she's losing a lot fluids. I've heard it can worsen after about the 3rd day from my friend who thinks he may have had it, so keep a close eye on her and make sure she's getting nutrients and rest. (Though I have heard that seasonal flu, at least here in Aust, is worse than swine flu, so my friend may have just gotten that).

if she keeps puking, if you havent already try warm coca cola/pepsi or warm gatorade it helps to keep you hydrated
(by warm i mean warm and flat-no bubbles so take a sip first to make sure)
