i think it was grant last nite who had a decent run going, saw a defender coming toward him & just ran out of bounds - i was pissed as hell!! nail the SOB & gain a few extra yards!!! other than that play, i thought he did better this game.

It was late in the game and he was stopping the clock.

Yeah, that was a pretty great play, actually.
Grant doesn't win a whole lot of match-ups, but I've seen his effort often enough. When he's being held up, or actually stays on his feet, he tends to keep his legs moving, trying to carry the defenders with him. Maybe not often enough, but he does do it.
Maybe that's why we where so high on Sutton. He has one thing that Grant appears to miss. Balance. Sutton get hit and knocked around, but keeps his balance and, that way, can break some bad tackles. Grant seems to stumble over his own feet half the time.
I really wonder what happend between 2007 and 2008/9. He appeared to be running right through and over people in 2007 and then just fall down on every single hit after that. The hamstring injuy really wasn't that bad, right?
That said, I was somewhat impressed this week. I think that, if we have an O-line, this is the way we should approach game. Everyone's raving about setting up the pass with the run, but with the way our offense is build, we should do it the other way around and keep it balanced that way. Get the coverage to soften up and then run the back.
Bennett and Levens wheren't great backs, they just had some good years because of our dominant passing game. They themselfs wheren't Ahman Green-good. I think we have to see Grant the same way. But then really overpriced.
